Classes If you take Anatomy and Physiology I online from a community college during the summer, does that allow you to take anatomy and physiology II?

I was told it counts for decker nursing pre requisites but not towards your degree. I’m wondering if that means you can’t take anatomy and physiology II with that or not.

Admissions Waitlist chances

Upvotes

I’ve seen many get off the waitlist already and I’m wondering what my chances are. I got put on the hotlist for students who’ve showed continued interest, and I’ve sent 3 LOCIs so far. If I get into Bing, I will most definitely attend. I’m just scared of my chance because it’s June.

MA in comparative lit

Upvotes

I am interested in the MA in comparative lit. I will be speaking to the professor next week but before I do I was wondering if any current or past students could shed a light on the reading lists for the courses or in general the periods/authors/titles you cover?

Bing EOP Placement Test

Upvotes

Hey guys, so I’m going into Binghamton with EOP and I heard there is a placement test.

For those who took it last year or so, was it easy or hard and what does it cover? I’m not that good at mental math but I excelled at Calculus. I heard it’s non calculator as well, which might be a problem for me.

Admissions How Long Does It Take to Receive an I-20 After Accepting an Assistantship?

I had received provisional admission and was asked to submit financial documents for my I-20. Fast forward, I am recently offered a graduate assistantship that includes a tuition waiver and health insurance, and I have accepted the offer.

What should I do next to get my I-20? Do I need to contact the international office, or will they process it automatically? Also, how long does it usually take to receive an I-20 after accepting an assistantship?

Thanks!

Lemme know if you want to dm me so we can face college together 😝
I'm also going to be at mountain view if anyone else is! 🫶

Proof of Graduation

Does anyone know how to get proof of graduation that doesn’t include an official transcript and proof of enrollment? My upcoming job requires proof of enrollment but they didn’t take an official transcript or proof of enrollment letter from the registrar as proof of graduation so I’m confused on what I should provide instead. They listed a letter from my advisor but I don’t even know who my advisor is.

Which classes count for multiple gen ed requirements?

It's my understanding that most classes at Binghamton that contain multiple gen ed attributes will only be able to count for one of those said attributes. The general education webpage states:

"Some General Education courses may have more than one General Education listed. However, except for Composition, Oral Communication, Joint Composition/Oral Communication, Civic Discourse, or World Language classes, General Education courses may be used to fulfill only one General Education requirement.

So I can see that C/O/J can be applied along with another gen ed attribute. However, in a recent email with faculty, I was told this:

To my understanding, a course can fulfill more than one gen ed requirement - it just depends on the gen ed category. New Authoritarianism PLSC 180C should fulfill both N (social science) and O (oral communication), as well as T (critical thinking) and I (information literacy). It wouldn't be able to count for both N and H (humanities), for example.

Is this accurate? I also notice that T and I are listed in a different category on Degreeworks (General Education Core Competencies) rather than the General Education category that the others are in, so does that make it different? Thanks!

For those who are taking summer classes, does anyone know when financial aid refunds will be processed? I desperately need a new computer but will be relying on financial aid to get one.

Admissions Chances of Acceptance as OOS Highschooler

Hi, I'm going into my senior year.

I'm looking to major in accounting rn, so SOM, which seems competitive from what I've read here...

Stats: ~4.2/4.3 UW GPA which is probably gonna go down to a 4.0, ~4.4/5.0 W GPA, 7 APS (4 this year & 3 next year), 1570 SAT

ECs pretty mid: I have a paid internship at a decently big real estate firm this summer, three clubs w/ no leadership roles so far unfortunately, won a few awards for chemistry (one from a local regional A.C.S chapter), 60 community service hours

I'm Asian, if it matters

I think my stats are good, but my ECs seem to be lacking and I'm also oos. Thanks a lot

Water Quality

Hi! I’m an upcoming freshman and I’m going to be in a suite with 5 other people so we will have our own bathroom. Generally, how is the water at Bing (e.g. drinking water from fountains, shower). Would it be recommended to buy a Brita for drinking water or a water filter for my hair/face? Thanks!

Buses from Bing to Northern NJ

Someone recently told me there are buses from the campus that go back to Northern NJ (possibly Wayne NJ area or Bergen County) Does anyone have information on this? I can’t seem to find it on the website and mostly only found information about trains from the city which go into Penn Station NYC.

I’m taking organic chemistry in the fall and spring of this coming year and I was thinking of purchasing Organic Chemistry as a Second Language since I heard it was a good resource before you take the class. I’m just not sure if it matters what version I get or if I should just get the newest one. Any input i appreciated I just wanted the opinion of someone who has taken orgo at bing.
