Looking to start a Everon vanilla plus server. Was looking for community feedback on what mods to add without making it extreme.

Whatever you do, do not add where am I or keep weapon when uncon. Keep it more vanilla than modded.

Huh? The Army had slings in 1989 that's the thing I never understood with the dropping weapon in vanilla.

They don’t have functional slings in game. If so i would agree with the mod. But the way it stands the mod makes it so you do not drop anything when uncon. That is not realistic nor wanted by most. Just some casuals who can’t be bothered.

Your gun bugging out and clipping through the ground isn't realistic either, nor is recovering from being shot multiple times, grabbing your gun, and going back into the fight.
I'm a milsimmer through and through, but the constant strive for 'realism' in a highly unrealistic video game just doesnt make sense.

That's exactly what I'm going for. Some supply helicopters maybe some tanks and attack helicopters. Simple enough to where it's comfortable for new players and veterans. And if it goes well with limited mods maybe we could add modded maps in the future. Take you for your response by the way

"420s Keep weapons on uncon" and "keep vehicles" are both super nice to have.
ACE Chopping, ACE Trenches are always nice to have.

I don't know about adding trenches yet maybe in the future, both for sure the keep weapons on uncon. I know I'm going to have the original RHS weapon mod. Supply helicopters and the such. I'm doing this because there's no good visual plus Everon servers.

What all is in that RHS mod?
Cause I'll be honest, most servers that run the wide array of RHS mods would often stray from what I'd consider Vanilla+ if it adds too many new weapons of variable quality.

Roger that, I just figured a little updated guns wouldn't hurt. I really only plan to go as far as guns and supply helos. If it goes any further wouldn't mind adding attack helicopters and tank setups for another server.

BMP-2 & M2 Bradley Mi-24 & Cobra Zsu-23 for both 777 for both
Spawn supplies on the bases a little, so that you still need to transfer it with track, but you will get supplies for this truck on base. Spawn supplyes on supplies bases a lot, so there never 0, you always can take it

If you're gonna have the attack helis then you need to add an AA rocket like the Stinger/ Igla.
And I'm torn because I like the idea of the attack helis but don't always love their impact on the game. Maybe they just need to cost more, or maybe I just wish they were a touch more refined.

No, zu-23-2 is enough, helicopters should have unguided missiles only, so they wouldn't be significantly more powerful than vanilla helicopters

Whatever you do, get mods for me to larp as late 80s early 90s delta and I’ll play it everyday

Do research on era appropriate equipment add such if mods exist For example don't add anachronistic vic's like a T90 or M777 or Ka-52,etc Or anachronistic weapons like an M240 or M4 with Ris rails,etc

Visible combatants (let’s you see enemies further)
All of Maesteri’s realism mods (just adds QOL extra realism. If you don’t want all definitely at least add his effects mod)
BTR cartridges (makes the BTR expel spent shells like it does IRL)
Shrapnel
There is a mod where when you shoot at someone’s legs there is a chance for them to ragdoll. Good for realism but I forgot the name
there is one that forces shadows on at a distance (keeps enemies that should be obscured by shadows hidden) - cant remember the name but just search up shadows
view distance 25km (I don’t find it impacts performance that much since it still only renders objects out to ~1km I think.
destructible bushes
moveable objects
breachable doors
ACE carrying mod (let’s you carry injured players away from combat)
That is a good baseline. I have more but these are good ones to just make the base game better. Doesn’t really add any new assets or shift the gameplay loop.
