Can someone please let me know approximately where in the series the spoiler is? Seems like a major one and I’m just wondering if I am going to be anticipating it for the next 4 books and it turns out it’s the big twist of the last book or if I will see it soon

I just finished Ch53 of ZA8, where Tory said Darcy “abandoned” her and I’m just like girl what?????? Can you pull your head out of your own ass for half a second please?

I feel for her. I really do. Her life has been wildly difficult, but so has Darcy’s and Darcy isn’t a selfish b*tch because of it. Sorry not sorry…

An earlier example is everything that happened with Darius, she refused to take any blame for how the situation unfolded until Darcy called her out. Gabriel had given her the opportunity to look at her own actions by telling her plainly that he knew how she’d react to him pointing out her part in her and Darius’ failed relationship, and instead of using that as an opportunity to put her guard down and truly take a hard look at herself, she reacted exactly as Gabriel said she would. Having that foresight and doing nothing with it is incredibly embarrassing for her, but given this was fairly early in the series, I could look past it under the assumption she’d, y’know, learn from her mistakes.

Now, many books later, Tory has grown approximately 0%. She knows what it’s like to have an Elysian mate since she and Darius technically are mates as well, yet refuses to acknowledge that she’d act in the same way Darcy is if she herself was in a mirrored situation with Darius. Darcy isn’t capable of being around Tory without the shadow beast taking over, Tory experiences this firsthand, she’s been told why Darcy can’t come back with her, and Tory’s conclusion is that Darcy fucking abandoned her? WHAT? She doesn’t even entertain for a moment that her sister is in a horrific situation and needs to stay away for her sake, she doesn’t even have a slim desire for Darcy to remain present for her own Elysian mate and see the benefit of that. She simply victimizes herself and decides she has been abandoned.

Like, yes, sure, be sad! I’m not saying she can’t feel hurt, but this girl is so fucking allergic to her own sadness and pain that instead of feeling the complexity and nuances of her emotions, she villainizes people. She’s brave in many ways but when it comes to herself, she’s a complete coward and that causes her to constantly stand in her own way.

I guess I’m just disappointed that 8+ books into this series and Tory, at best, hasn’t had any emotional growth, and at worst, maybe even regressed emotionally. I really hope that by the end of book 9 she actually learns from past experiences and grows because jesus christ her lack of growth is making her incredibly insufferable.

Ive finished the zodiac academy series and now I'm thinking back to 8.5 when Max's mom was flipping out in the beyond about needing to get a message to max and his dad. Something about what his stepmother did that they don't know about. After finishing the series, I just realized I never got the answer to what that was about unless I missed it?? Does anyone know??

I had to get it off my chest. If someone is reading ZA7 currently and wants to talk about the batshit crazy things that are happening, do let me know because this is insane.

So this is going to be spoilers for the ending of books 8 and 8.5 with the addition bonus of me adding my own takes of the over all story. So if you haven’t finished 8 and 8.5 or just don’t care here goes my opinions! And reminder! THIS IS PRE ME READING BOOK 9. So if my thoughts and opinions are wrong or get fix on that book or in darkmore or hell in book 10 when we get it then fuck me ig.

My biggest take! The fact that Tory save Darius was so easy piss me off. Don’t get me wrong I know she and him spent their whole book on find a way back. Tory in the living realm using dark and forbidden magic to get him. Had to go ‘Good’ (I say it like that because again! I haven’t read book 9 so who(aka me) know that if they stay helping Tory when they fight the war with Lionel

Another one! When Tory and Darius got back to the land of the living. WHY DID THEY IMMEDIATELY GO TO “Omg your back! Now let’s fuck for two days straight!” Like are you fucking KIDING me?! What with author and sex scenes during a war. I gone through this with Fourth Wing in Onyx Strom, ACOWAR, now during SoS. “oh! But silent! They missed each other so much and of course they want to be together! And how was Tory supposed to know that Zodiac Academy was under attack!” EXACTLY! How was she supposed to know. BECAUSE SHE LEFT FOR WHOLE ASS WEEK! Maybe longer! She should pulled her head out of her own ass for a moment and thought “hey now that I’m back from death let me ask Darius where my backpack was. I need let the other know I’m alive and didn’t KILL MYSELF!” Because let’s be fucking serious and honest. We’re all in Zodiac Academy during the war. One of our queens is being keep prisoner but the fake king. Our other queen just watch her husband die! She act weird and using dark magic (I say it’s up in the air if the other outside the main group actually knew and if they didn’t they can see Tory slowly lose her mind) they fighting a unbeatable fight. And they lost in the ocean. After not seeing Tory for so long people are going to either believe she gave up or she killed herself.

A hot take but might make ppl agree. TORY HAD NO RIGHT BEING UPSET ABOUT DARCY! And if you don’t agree then to me I don’t get you. Because let’s put Darcy in Tory shoes and Tory in Darcy shoes. Aka meaning! Lance died instead of Darius and! Tory now has the shadow beast, if Darcy came to her and she wanted to save her but couldn’t take Darius. Tory would be piss! Tell Darcy that she has no right to try to take her from Darius when he was had a death bond. Not only that but Darcy and Tory would fight each other because the other is acting dumb by trying to use old forbidden magic. I know Darcy doesn’t know (pre book 9) but if she knew that Tory had literally used Dark Magic to ‘kill’ herself to bring back Darius and combined their souls together she going to be piss! And if it was the other way around Tory will be piss because Darcy chose Lance over her! Like nothing Darcy does will ever be enough for Tory. I get they love and will die for each other but like Darcy said at the end of book 8 “they going down different paths but they alway matter to each other.”

One last thing! I semi spoiled myself this a take I seen a lot of people have. That the girls keep the forgotten promises save it easily. I don’t know how they do it but my thoughts is what they normally do aka just throw themself at something till it works. I get why they didn’t make the star the new villain because they made Lionel the big bad for so long it would be a cop out to change it in the last book.

That’s my opinions on book 8 and 8.5 but it’s more about 8 then any because I didn’t have any problems with 8.5 except for Azriel and Francesca. Dude 😭 let that girl dream that she was going to be with Orion! I get she never had a chance but god damn! And Orion would got with Gabriel before Darius IN MU OPINION! He was alway going to end with a Vega or a Nox

Oh my freakin heck! I know I’m late to the game but I was trying to figure out what happened to Ryder. I thought for sure he would be part of ZA, but he was never mentioned. Then it dawned on me that he changed his identity. Seriously he’s Carson! He mentioned he always did his own ink and he seems to have a minor obsession with Disney movies in ruthless boys and Carson is covered in Disney tattoos! 🤯🤯🤯

There have been a bunch of mentions of using water as lube in sex scenes and I’m just like???? Both with water magic or in pools/baths… Water literally makes sex less slippery and adds friction!

I roll my eyes so hard every time I come across it, it makes zero sense.

i was on RB1 and i got this spoiler, turned me off the entire series and i picked up ZA4 again

am i the only one who is a teensy bit icked out by this when i heard RB was reverse harem i was like ooh damn but learning all of them were EM gave me a very strong resentment towards the plot of the books

So I didn’t tandem read these and I’m on 8.5 currently but I’ve been stuck on it for about 2 weeks now. I’m 44% through it but like….do I need to keep reading it? I love the other books but this one just isn’t doing it for me and I want to finish this part of the series so I can start RB

So I'm about halfway through ZA5, and I've noticed that for some reason, in Tory's chapters, she refers to Lance as Lance, but Darcy still usually refers to him as Orion, unless it is in direct conversation or thoughts. Is there a reason for this, or am I just picking up on nothing?

I’m almost done with book 3 in Ruthless Boys, after finishing books 1-3 in Zodiac Academy. While I like the RH aspect of the Ruthless Boys series, I’m starting to lose interest overall. I’m finding all of the characters, between both series, just incredibly immature and frustrating. I also think a large part of the reason I’m losing steam is because there are so many other books/series I want to read, but each of these books are pretty long so it’s not like they’re quick filler reads between others. I guess I’m just wondering if the overarching storyline is good enough to keep going and push through the slump it’s seeming to put me in.

As a side note - some major things were spoiled for me (the twins order, Tory rejecting the bond, Elise having multiple bonds). I guess I’m hoping there are other big plot twists that should push me to keep going?

I’m on page 923 of book 7 and am 92% of the way through this book. I know how these books end!!! I start panicking so bad when I hit the last hundred pages. I know this is going to be an absolute shit show, I can feel it. It’s going to rip my heart out and spit in my face. I’m putting off finishing it because I KNOW it’s gonna be bad. Just tell me how bad so I can prepare. It’s gonna be really bad, isn’t it??? 😭😭😭

I listen to audible and for some reason I can’t hear what’s being said in part 8, about 58 minutes into the book The 4 heirs, twins, and O’Rian have just used star dust to go to Darrius’s home. And it starts with: I turned to find Darcy scrambling out of O’Rian’s lap on the gravel at our feet. “Predictably clumbsy as always blue.” He stood up… and I cannot understand what is said until … from His pants… can someone please tell me what it says?

I just cant get into it! All the other books in ZA, minus the novella, were great! Darius is so annoying in this one. Figured I would just listen to the book for the rest of the book, it was worse. Can I just skip the rest of this book and move on to the next one? 😩

I saw this image… it was a redo of a Disney princess (maybe Ariel or Meg? I’m not sure) to be a baddie… but all I see is Elise.
I like Zodiac Academy. I’m heading into the fourth book after a detour for Ruthless Boys.

I didn’t expect to like Ruthless Boys as much as I have. My only complaint with the world as a whole is that I do feel pacing is really uneven. So many of the books could be edited and combined down, but I still love it.
