Plan of Action

We open our scene, as we see Stephen Romero in his apartment, laying down on his back on the couch. Staring up at the ceiling. The whole apartment gray, as it seems to be daytime, but the blinds are closed and no lights are on. As we then begin to hear Romero speak.

Romero: What to do….what to do….I know I have to actually change...but how?

Romero takes a deep breath, closing his eyes, in deep thought, before speaking once more.

Romero: Maybe I really should just embrace everything Peril’s told me…..I mean all of it’s worked for him, he fuckin’ won, and has beated a ton of others…..wait, no, no no. I know I accepted him as a mentor but I still have to remember he’s evil. If I embrace him fully I will surely be as corrupted as him….and it’s been my damn life’s work to be a better man, I can’t toss that out because of a few losses….BUT WHAT THE HELL ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!

Romero sits up, covering his face with his hands, before sighing, as he reaches over to a small table by the couch, grabbing a cup, as we see some green matcha tea in it. As he drinks from the cup, before setting it down, as he sits back in the couch to try and relax.

Romero: Alright, I needed that….now, the hell to do?….I figure maybe approach others than Peril for advice?....Well, maybe not, I wasn’t able to use S.P.E.C.I.A.L.I.S.T’s advice well either…..but then again they are Peril’s associates, they’re probably too close to him in their philosophy to be that different, and my mind still doesn’t really want to process everything Perilmorde told me, perhaps some left over stubborness in not making a major change, ones that may be uncomfortable…….but wait…...if I seek out other’s advice, and I take it from men I know are good…..I may be able to strike a balance, the change without the corruption! By god Stephen why didn’t you think of just doing this earlier! I can get more perspectives, and make everything Perilmorde’s tried to teach me easier to swallow! I got some things to do!

Romero then rushes off his couch, running off into his bedroom, where he opens a drawer, hastily pulling out a notepad and a pen, quickly scribbling things down on the notepad, as he speaks.

Romero: Alright….should be able to get in contact with him…..certainly him…...possibly this next guy……..alright, I got it! Everyone i’ll try and talk to, at least one of these should be a success...alright, when the hell is the next House Party…

Romero quickly glances over to a calendar on his wall, looking a bit surprised.

Romero: THAT SOON? Shit I didn’t even realize how soon it really was, guess that’s what happens when our streaming service went down for as long as it did. Alright, I won’t have as much time as I wanted to seek everything out, but i’ll make it work. Now, where the hell’s the show, Philly or somethin’? I best get there as soon as I can, time is of the essence, and change takes time, lets get outta here!

We see Romero rush over to grab a gym bag, picking it up, as he speaks while walking out.

Romero: Wait, did I even unpack all of this from Corkboard? I don’t think I did…..ah what the hell, i’ll deal with it later! I ain’t got time to pack fresh clothes! I really need to remember to still do the mundane things even in times like these…

Romero’s voice trails off, as he rushes out the room, bag in hand, disappearing out of his room, as we fade to black.
