Wedding dress alterations

Hello,

I’m getting married end of July and my wedding dress was custom made to my measurements in my home country. I just received it a few days ago and it is too long because at the time of my first fitting I didn’t know what shoes I’ll wear so they didn’t alter the length. It also turned out to be too big in my bust area (not very gifted there lol). So need to alter these two parts of my dress and I’m looking for recommendations for trusted places to go to because it is a very important piece of clothing and I don’t want to risk ruining it…

Thank you!

Sunday queues for Bilford Road Housing Recycling Centre

Thumbnail tiktok.com

I've had a number of residents getting in contact to raise the queues on Bilford Road on Sunday mornings before the recycling centre opens at 10am. While we're working on permanent solutions, please do avoid heading the recycling centre before 10am on Sunday. It's open every other day 8am-6pm, so you can visit before or after work. We'll keep pushing for changes to fix this permanently.

Help find 'Ali' - getting calls from her mum

Hi all,

Very long shot, but I am getting calls from 'Ali's' mum.

She sounds elderly and she seems concerned/worried and has rang several times to speak to Ali. I have confirmed the phone number she is trying to ring and it seems like she is dialling the correct number (my number). So she may have jotted it down wrong.

I have mentioned she has the wrong number but has rang back and left voicemails on a few occasions.

She is dialling from a Worcester number, beginning 01905 and ending 594.

I have Googled the number and nothing.

Thanks...

Edit....

The police have been made aware and they will trace the number. Hopefully the lady will get through to Ali. Thanks all for your help.

What a great evening at New Rd yesterday! I took my 8 year old for his first T20 and he came away absolutely loving it!

The atmosphere was really great, and it’s fantastic to see New Rd full to the rafters.

What a result from the team as well! Well done the Rapids!

Congratulations WCCC on a great show!

Arsenal fan pub for UCL Final

Bit of a long shot but does anyone know where all of the Arsenal fans will go to watch the final tomorrow? I know it will probably be on in most pubs but just wondering if there will be a “place to go” that I can join. Thanks!

Temp lights out of sync/bust by Waitrose London Road

The temporary lights on the junction by Waitrose London Road are not cycling and on constant red, all flows of traffic are having to essentially "risk" going for it.

Thought I'd post to warn people pre rush hour 👍

Worcester never fails to impress when you catch it from the canal towpaths.

Took a proper walk down by Diglis Basin and up along the canal towpath near St George’s Lane yesterday evening during the nice weather. When the sun is hitting the water and the canal boats are moving through, it’s easily one of the most beautiful, relaxed places in the West Midlands. It completely reminds me why I love living here despite the occasional traffic chaos. If you haven’t done the full loop down past the docks and back up through the green fields lately, do yourself a favour this weekend.

High pitched alarm

Don’t know where it’s coming from but it’s 3am in Worcester near Sin/Chester’s etc on one of the hottest days of the year and a very high pitched alarm is just ringing and ringing. I’m autistic so that’s my sleep gone until it stops.

Legal graffiti spots/ free walls in and around Worcester

Hey everyone! I'm a street artist and I've recently moved to Worcester and wondering if anyone knows of any legal walls where people can go paint graffiti/street art without getting nicked?

I know the Worcester paint festival is a thing, but these are specific allocated walls and are not allowed for anyone to come paint at any time.

In other cities I've lived in, there are usually dedicated 'free walls' perhaps at skateparks or underpasses. Does anyone here know of any? I'd really appreciate it! Feel free to DM if you'd rather not reply publicly.

Crisis & Resilience Fund, and talking about a post on /r/Worcester

Thumbnail tiktok.com

Last week at Policy & Resources Committee we were talking about the replacement of the Household Support Fund with the Crisis & Resilience Fund. These changes are intended to ensure the people most in need are getting help, but funding has been cut, and the guarantee of support for families receing free school meals has now ended. I share the concern with other councillors that people will fall through the gaps during the transition, and it is abhorrent and wrong that we have children in Worcester going hungry.

1963 Beatles fans threw jelly babies, 2026 it's ladies underwear!

Not advising anyone throws anything at the band on Saturday but they are definitely game for a laugh 😆

Love The Beatles are 4 professionals from the top tributes & theatre productions that have created a unique theatre-style experience specifically for grassroots music venues. In conjunction with the Anniversary of The Beatles playing Worcester Gaumont 63 years ago this week, 60s outfits are encouraged

Air con in The Marrs bar by the way 😉 Anyone like to join me and take a few hours away from the 21st century?!

Solo activities

In the past year I've gone through a divorce and cut out some toxic friends, which has resulted in me not getting out much (which I don't mind 90% of the time, but recently ive been finding myself abit bored lol)

I have a 5 year old and have every other weekends and some evenings free to do stuff, but find it hard to do hobbies as alot are better done with friends etc. I often walk solo which is fine, but would like some hobbies with abit of interaction 😅

Does anyone have any recommendations? Im a 33 y/o female I'm up for trying most things but get abit overwhelmed with trying to find things on Facebook/the internet etc

I live in WR3 so would prefer stuff this end of town.
