Shoutout to anyone else awake during the thunder-hail-pocalypse

I got up looked out the window saw the flash and immediately BOOM! I nearly had a code brown!

What was that boom?

Can't have just been thunder. About 20 years ago two high energy lines from the overhead power cables near powick bridge touched in a storm and that explosion sounded the same.

I wonder if one if a transformer got hit, In St John's it sounded like it came from towards comer road area but I can't be sure.

I think it struck one of the pylons near to the a44 tyre garage. Im right next to them and the noise was deafening and I felt it shake the house. Being that close to a lightning strike is that loud, a lot of people never experience it.

I left my phone recording in the window and thought id check in the morning to see if I caught anything cool, and five minutes later that one hit (which certainly woke me up)Wasn't getting back to sleep any time soon

loud as hell and scared the living daylights out of me down the road there was 2 car alarms going off still seeing flashes from the lightning

It woke me up, and I thought that's impressive, and must have been right above us, then I heard my daughter through the wall talking about it to her mates. When she gets up I'll ask who furthest from us heard it.

It was a good one. That giant booming one was crazy. The lightning was pretty constant and the rain at one point was so heavy. I love that type of weather. Was watching Child's Play at the time. Had surround sound when, Chucky was doing the Dembala voodoo shit. Lol

I felt it in my arse on the sofa! I was wearing NC headphones to keep everything quiet as it had woken me up. But blumming heck, I'm on the first floor half way up a hill, and I actually felt the bass boom.

I had War of the Worlds 2005 in mind after the initial clap of thunder then flashes with not much rumbling. Remember, they ride the lightning into the ground to activate the machines!!!!

My entire damn house shook at one point… I’m in the top floor bedroom… scared the shit out of me tbh!!!
