Photo Fantastic trip up the North Yorkshire Moors

Had an amazing trip up the moors this weekend, after considering going far and wide, I settled for the park right on my doorstep and I have no regrets. The only issue I had was the curlews keeping me up literally all night after never seeing one my entire life. Highly recommend and big shout out to the Lion Inn nearby for serving up a monster of a meat pie. Amazing after a long hike.

That is a wonderful photo of a curlew. As an amateur bird photographer I would be very pleased with that shot.

Also an amateur bird photographer! I planned to do a lot more photography but unfortunately had a bad stomach and had to drive back early the next day.

From the tent location I thought you must have been within walking distance of The Lion!

It was walkable but also a long trek. I purposefully set up there so it would be one very long trek up but also a nice drunken trek back down.

I was up that way on Sunday, walking along the old railway line. Not a bad weekend for it.

Sorry to sound pedantic, but it's actually the North York Moors.

Haha it is a little pedantic as it’s informally called that occasionally but thanks anyway lol. And yeah, it’s a great hike. I actually did Roseberry topping earlier in the day on the Saturday and got sunburned to hell. I was hoping to get out next weekend but the weather seems pretty bad so Il probably do the Lake District the week after.
