Looking for long lost family

Hi. My grandmother was from Wetzlar and met my grandfather who was in the army. I’m not exactly sure of the date but it had to be in the mid/late 1950s. All I really know is her last name was Bastian or something like that. She had a brother there that they called Boobie. Unfortunately my Oma died in 98 and I never got the chance to ask her about her family in Wetzlar. I’m hoping beyond hope some may recognize the name. Thank you!

Hi, 

there are some families called Bastian in Wetzlar. The nickname of your great uncle might have been "Bubi" which is a pet name for "little boy".

I suggest you ask in the Facebook group "Wir sind Wetzlar" and also in the group  "Du kennst Wetzlar, wenn du früher......" as there are many people in these groups that are born between the 50s-70s and the collect historical footage from Wetzlar. I'm sure someone from these groups might know something about your family.
