My favorite form factor

Post image

I think the Victorinoxes I like the most are the 1 and 2 layer 84 mm models. I don’t have all of them and probably never will, but I really like these all. Many of the usual suspects present here, but also a Rose edition (cellidor) Cadet, an old Golfer, a Gourmet and a Moomin edition Small Tinker.

I guess I’m not the only one who likes this form factor?

Which one goes into your pocket?

Varies a lot. When out and about, I’m usually bladess, but any of these are good in my pocket while at home or at the summer house. In the woods probably the Walker or then a 91, 111 or 130 mm model. Or just a puukko.

It’s my favourite too, kinda by accident. I don’t have as many as you, but I use my Sportsman all the time, Recruit lives in my kitchen, Alox Bantam and Waiter when I want something a bit smaller.

Those are all good. At home I have placed larger models, like the Cybertool M, Swisschamp or Explorer in different rooms, but in my pocket I might have one of these. And the Sportsman, Cadet Alox and cellidor Cadet are of course almost the same tool, just different packaging.

ATM I'm generally carrying a Recruit and it's fantastic. Large enough to do a bit of work, small enough to disappear into a pocket. Love the 84mm size, it's a real shame Victorinox don't explore more options for that bracket.

The Recruit is the newest of these - I actually got it today. But the cellidor version of the Cadet is otherwise the same knife, but the small blade is replaced with the nailfile, like in the Sportsman. So for me that one is even more perfect for light and thin carry (with the scale tools, that I like).
