Current The actual "flag" of Petersburg, West Virginia.
Fellow vexillologists, I am genuinely sorry for what I have brought upon your eyes.
This is not a joke, this is its actual flag. I am surprised it hasn't been posted in this sub yet, but now it has!
It's really just a painting of a golden trout with a text overlay (I am pretty sure the font is Arial).
Original artwork is by George LaVanish. Ironically it's actually a Pennsylvania trout, but West Virginia is known for its golden trout so...
Even the logo follows the vexillology rules more than this does.

Bienville Parish Louisiana and Brown County Nebraska, you have a new competitor.

Current Today I learned that the flag of Rwanda actually has two shades of yellow that are almost identical and I'm very mad at this
That's crazy why couldn't they just use one shade of the same color

Current I support everything this flag stands for, but it is an objectively ugly design.

Current What are some of your favorite non-national flags that are still being used today?
For me, it would have to be in this order: The City of Amsterdam, State of Hawaii, State of South Carolina, Province of New Brunswick, and Brittany.

Current “Individual Neutral Athlete” flag at Olympics.
Just watching the Rowing heats with the rowers in my family and we are like, “where is AIN”? Turns out it’s the French initials for an “Individual Neutral Athlete” and they’ve got a pretty interesting teal flag.

Current Flag of Bernartice (Czechia), designed by me, granted by parliament (2025)
The flag of Bernartice (Benešov District), a municipality in Czechia, was granted on 19th May 2025.
https://rekos.psp.cz/detail-symbolu/id/6401
The photo was kindly sent to me by the mayor, which I really appreciate, as when I visited in person the flag was unfortunately wrapped around the flagpole.
As usual, the flag is a simplified version of the municipality’s coat of arms. The unfinished bridge refers to a rather unusual local landmark, the so called “Hitler’s bridge” (officially the Borovsko Bridge, though the former name is certainly more memorable). It is an unfinished highway bridge whose construction began in Czechoslovakia and was later taken over by the Nazi occupiers, who intended to incorporate it into the German motorway network. It was one of the few large-scale construction projects allowed to continue during the war, and work only stopped after the reprisals that followed the assassination of Reichsprotektor Reinhard Heydrich in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
The final blow came after the war, when it was decided to flood the Sedlec Stream valley, which the bridge partly spanned, to create the Želivka reservoir. Today, the once tall structure rises only a few meters above the water level, and locals regard it as a symbol of Czechoslovak resistance during the war.
The two flowers represent local endangered endemic flora as well as the two historic villages, Bernartice and Borovsko, which together form the present municipality. The blue color was chosen to represent the reservoir surrounding the area.
