Why don't you explain and directly say what you hate.

Example "I hate you X people that think Y do this Z amateur stuff"
I don't claim to be a flag expert i just show some ideas with quick AI rendering to be improved afterwards. I test the concept i don't claim that is my final flag, i will not base my final flag on a quick render AI man i will use Inkscape for the serious drawing...

He means that most flags look worse when they add shading to it, because it may make the flag maybe look a little bit more realistic, but also adds no functional purpose to a flag.

I'm more referring to the fact that no flag in history has ever had shadows because creating flags with shadows was impossible for most of human history

Why should we care what was possible or not in old times are we on some historical accuracy competition or something :o ?
