Cool, and?

The whole purpose of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is proposing shit that doesn't get done, but creates an illusion of opposition. (And also being an outlet so that actual communists can be coerced into operating within the system rather then doing the one thing they are known for and propagating revolution, because the current Russian government isn't very keen on meeting the fate of the Romanovs, while also doing all the same shit they've done almost as if they have a checklist.)

The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia proposed the Imperial Black-Yellow-White flag as a national flag of the Russian Federation, and?

Amidst the backdrop of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation proposed to the State Duma the adoption of the Soviet flag as the official flag of Russia on 19 April 2022.

Source: Wikipedia and the official website of the CPRF (which I cannot link to).

CPRF literally stated that they don't want a revolution. It's basically anything but communist, it's nostalgia larp for old people

The hammer & sickle is a banned symbol in many countries, making it not safe to view this at work in these countries.

I like how they proposed the flag without a joint proposition of restoring the USSR. It's just "here's our proposal for a new flag for the Russian Federation".

Well they still have the same anthem melody…

We’re talking about flags, after all, so I think this is a good fit for r/vexillology.

The USSR was functioningly just the Russian Empire in a different font, complete with ethnic minorities and the libertarian left getting fucked.

You are right. And all the minorities were slowly being replaced by russians in their native lands. And everybody had to learn russian. To this day there are lots of russians in the countries that regained their independence.
