UNBAN r/DOGDIET Dog Milk Addiction

I’ve dabbled with vegetarianism and veganism over the years. I especially love dogs, they’re so intelligent, emotional and they love music. The problem I’m having is getting rid of dog milk. My husband and I are Labrador milk cheese addicts, I’m a husky milk addict, husky butter addict. We don’t eat beef or pork already, but how do I get us off the dog cheese? Vegan cheese is just so expensive with very little protein that I have found. Labrador cheese sticks are my go to snack for a protein boost or a fat glass of Beagle milk. AI suggested I wean myself off dog cheese because I don’t think I can afford the nut cheese regularly.

TLDR

Any suggestions on affordable vegan cheeses? As of now we probably eat 1lb of dog milk cheese a week each. What could become a new protein staple? What could I switch to get that dog milk cheese flavor/texture that isn’t 6 dollars for 10 slices?

Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you

Edit: thank you so much for all the support and various links, I feel like I now have a plan of attack to get me off this darn dog-crack. I deeply appreciate you ❤️

Milk is for babies so you have to take it very slow and make baby steps. Try to progressively replace the dog milk with cat milk, it worked for my pescitarian uncle!

This is a great suggestion OP.

I’ve had some luck with nursing directly from the dog.

The rate of flow is very low so you would have to spend a long time to drink the same amount as you would buy from the supermarket.

It’s a confusing experience but I find I drink much less this way, although I still suckle a few times a day so I’m not completely rid of it.

Wow, that's like the most humane animal milk out there. You must kneel and sing his praises every time you see him huh

Yeah but it's not easy since he lives underwater now, submarines are expensive!

My tip is to skip the cheese entirely. Milk contains valuable opioid peptides which can be easily replaced with plant-based alternatives like opium poppy.

I find chihuahua milk to be more ethical than milking the bigger dogs because chihuahuas are usually ankle biters so they deserve it. 👍

You don't really need to stop as long as you're mostly vegan wherever it counts. I for example am disabled and need dog milk. It's one of my only safe foods
