This was one of two "vegan" options that was presented to me when a friend invited me to lunch with them one day. Thanks but that is inedible carnist slop. Try again next time.

"Baked falafel"

If the place isn’t middle eastern and they have felafel on the menu, especially “baked” felafel, and especially if it’s as part of some “healthy” bowl type shit
prepare for the worst, driest, most flavourless shit you’ve ever eaten in your life.

You’d get better, fresher felafel from a kebab shop at 2:30am.

thought you were complaining about the recipe at first, then I saw the 99% vegan label, lmao

Bingo. When i saw that i wanted to say something to them but decided against it and just begrudgingly ate the one other actually vegan option.

I'm assuming it's the aioli that is full of animal? What a bummer :( Wild that they would even advertise that

That's exactly it. I just think it's funny when places dont know that 1% not vegan equals 0% vegan. Were plating an all or nothing game here.

What’s 90% vegan anyway? Someone who eats a plant-based diet but occasionally bets on the dogs?

/uj Someone who eats a salad with eggs when being invited to a party. Who buys cereals with honey in it. Who eats non-vegan cake when they like it. Who doesn't check ingredients basically. Because it's just too inconvenient to not support the killing.

still better than someone who doesn't try

u/NewbornMuse keto Jan 24 '26

True, but someone who is 90% robbery free is just still a robber.
