I was a huge Holden supporter, and so when they got the win following the 2020 race, I painted this with the intention to see if I could get any driver to sign it.

I guess I got insecure and put it aside, and never publicly shared this.

Get those names on there. A lot of the paddock are very chilled and humble people and they would appreciate the handy work put into it. Not everyone can afford all the merch, or multiple hundy dollar diecast models. But THEY LOVE THE FANS. Without the fans, there is no sponsor and then there is no business.

Back in the Erebus days, Brodie & Will invited me and my kid into the garage during a Friday and a chat to the engineers and look at the car. We weren’t vip’s. We were only taking part in the schools at track campaign.
But that small gesture has earned them fans for life.

This is awesome! When i was a kid my dad took me and a friend to pukekohe. My friend and I walked off and were looking into the back of the garages, some dude outside the SBR garage saw us and asked if we wanted to come in to look around. Ended up being shown around the garage, got up close and personal with the Pirtek car, and Marcos Ambrose came over and spoke to us for a while. He was really nice and friendly, and spoke to us for ages. Ended up telling him good luck, and that i hoped he came third (because I still wanted NZers Greg Murphy and Jason Richards to beat him). He had a good laugh about it. Made the day such an amazing experience.

I am so stoked to hear there are more recent cases of this happening.

Edit: Also, OP this is really cool! I’d definitely take it along to another race weekend if you managed to go, and ideally try and get some signatures on it!
