DCF Can the group please tell me my opinion about throwing out my perfectly good boots in favor of spending money on footwear that's going to fall apart?

Dump the waterproof trekking mountain boots for house rubber flip flops!

That's what porters in Nepal do. If they can haul refrigerators up a mountain in flip-flops, so can you!

Are you wearing socks? If so, they’re about to be blown right off.

Turns out, all feet are not identical. Like snowflakes, no two are exactly the same.

And much like the gentle snowflake, feet are extremely fragile. You’ve probably already ruined yours without realizing it. I’m not actually a doctor, but I am willing to give medical advice as though I’m a podiatrist.

Hope that helps.

I'm good. I spent $300 a pair for Merino wool socks where the wool came from a sheep's butthole which somebody on Reddit told me was the best and I had to spend that much or I wasn't ultralight.

I'm going up Ben Nevis in the bleakest midwinter wearing DCF Crocs.
