If you must take it out of the packaging I would recommend using Fiji Artesian bottled water in your filter to avoid any unsightly discoloration.

Big mistake here! Should have bought the ultralight mesh bag filter… Wouldn’t be seeing any discoloration with one of those and anything that gets into your water would be worn weight at the end of the day, win-win situation.

This is why I only run prefiltered water through my filters. Keeps the resale value up!

Yes but what filter do you use to pre-pre-filter the pre-filters water before you pre-filter it? Im thinking probably a Be-free and then you just have to throw it away and replace it with a new one each time since, you know- because they Be Free and all.

/uj unironically I ended up with mineral build up in my sawyer filter because I cleaned it with tap water
