Weekly character art thread #1 Yuuka Kazami

Weekly art thread: Yuuka Kazami

Hello, and welcome to the weekly art thread. This is for people to show off their skill, learn stuff, and have fun. So long as it’s original art by you, it’s welcome. You can use what ever art medium you like: Drawings, water color, Digital art, MMD, Music, Programming, and Cosplay, if you made it, you can post it. Don’t worry about skill, just do your best.

Each week, this’ll be synced up to the same character as the music threads. There will be Exceptions how ever, such as non specific themes. In these cases, a random character that has already been used in the music thread will be the focus.

The theme character should be in it, but apart from that, you can have any other characters you want, and any setting. The deadline is until the next character art thread, but if you're late, you can put it in the next one, just say it's the character from the last week. Gore is allowed, but you’ll need to tag it. NSFW is permitted, but preferred if submitted to the NSFW touhou reddit instead.

Other things you can submit: You can submit art tutorials, and I’ll save them to a document, and link it here for easy access to help

Link to art tutorials

The only other rules are be respectful, help others, and have fun.

Well, here's hoping this picks up steam and actually works. And since it's Yuuka, that Guro warning might come in handy other than that, I hope there'll be pretty flowers.

I like flowers.

Bet you didn't know that. Well, unless you looked at my username.

Well, I'm done

Here it is.

That Star wars fig I bought came in handy even if he can't hold the flamethrower

And now since I feel artsy after this, I need to finish that Ramona flowers I was doing for a friend. It's pretty much completed, it's just the last line for the hair and it's done. Who knew one line could feel so hard to do.

EDIT: Link Change

Haha clever, using graph paper to get the cloth pattern.

Body proportions look a bit off. Arms seem too long for the rest of her body, for example - unless she has freakishly long arms. Also legs, especially around the feet area, look a bit wonky. Try figuring out how to get things in proportion so that they look natural.

As for finer details, you probably could probably get some sort of shading if you wanted. The elbow creases are well-done, for example. Keep practicing, you're off to an okay start.

Ah. The arm length Looked fine to me. Thought I wouldn't have to worry about proportions if I used something for reference. Though if we're talking lanky proportions, the Yukka NPC in gary's mod looks even lankier.

In any case, I'll look into it tutorials for that and study them tomorrow, Thanks for telling me. It'll also give me excuse to actually add things to the tutorial section rather than just posting things here.

As for the finer details, yeah, I forgot to to the shading, the finer details are actually my favorite bits to draw, so it's odd for me to forget. And thank you for the elbow creases, nice to know they look good. Was a bit worried about the ones on the right forearm

Use imgur so us guys with RES can view it seamlessly, please.

I guess the grid helped with the checker pattern on her dress, eh?

Ah, ok. How do I do that? I don't know how to add it to the Touhou imgur, Or do I just upload it to the main imgur?

Links submitted to Reddit directly are automatically placed in the appropriate imgur. Comments don't. Just upload it and link it like normal.

I actually ran out of paper in the normal notebook I use, and this was the best I could find. I'm not paying $10 for a blank notebook, when a $3 one has is just as good.

I guess in this case, being a cheapskate helped in the long run.
