Album The Kinks & LOW BUDGET (1979):

The Kinks & LOW BUDGET (1979): Raucous choruses and shout-a-long lines proved ideal for the arenas The Kinks were now playing.

The arena rock era has arrived! What an album. I saw them twice on this tour (Milwaukee & Madison). What raucous concerts they were. Can still pictures everyone throwing their fists in the air to the song Pressure! Pressure! Probably the most fun I ever had was at these two shows.

I think one of the Kinks most important album. This ushered in 8-9 years of steady LP's and tours.

The LP itself is great. I love Superman (long cut), Gallon of Gas, Low Budget, Pressure, Catch me Now Im falling, on and on. Super listenable LP.

A number 11 on Billboard (should have been higher), super strong concerts songs, fans flocking to see them. May have been their peak. A great era. I miss it.

One other thought on this band. Sleepwalker, Misfits, Low budget - 3 great albums in 3 years. Outstanding.

Low Budget and Gallon of Gas are relevant again.

My first Kinks album. I was 11. It was actually my first rock album. (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman was the reason I got it, but I loved every song on it.
