Yeah but you can use lab grown ones for those purposes

Humans need(not really) to have their rocks come from an industry fuelled by violence and child exploitation or they're no good

Reminds me of automatic watches gaining back market share after the quartz crisis.

Difference is automatic watches can be appreciated as ethical craftsmanship and unique jewelry, where as natural diamonds are almost always more expensive and immoral.
