Is the high school track open to the public?
Hi everyone, I am wondering if the high school track is open to the public when it’s not being used for school athletics/activities. Can I just show up on the weekends or summer months to use it or will it be locked or will I get kicked off?
I’ve tried looking on the high school website and the SLP City Website, but I can’t find anything about it. I’m not sure if there would be a calendar that shows when it’s open to the public (if it all).
Thanks!

Are you talking about the stadium or the field immediately behind the school? The stadium has to be reserved and I think you need a permit for whatever you'd use it for. The field behind the school can be used by the public, you might just need to hop a fence to get in. People use it all the time in the summer.

I was talking about the one that is closest to the tennis courts and that has a track. I just want to go for a run on the track when then weather gets nicer.

Yeah you're not going to get kicked out unless there's a planned event going on there. You just have to be creative getting in. 😁

This is bullshit. Our taxes pay for that track. I've been going to braemar field on the weekend. Open everyday from 12-9pm. Public. unless there is baseball or lacrosse 8-12 they have a track to run. 400m

Your taxes will pay for the lawsuit when someone falls and breaks their ankle too.

I have no idea, but commenting for visibility because I want to know too! My high school track was open to the public growing up, and if SLP’s is too I’d definitely use it.
