Hi, last Monday a couple friends of mine were riding their tandem bicycle at the roundabout of Coastal & Shore roads (PR8 2QA) when they were victims of an unprovoked attack, the person in the screenshots kicked them out of balance and got one of my friends very nasty bruises.

I'd like to kindly ask anyone who might have information about the incident please contact the police (or send me a private message) the crime reference number is: MP202605250822.

*PLEASE, DO NOT SHARE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION HERE*

Southport News Chris Packham backs Southport screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing

This film, The People's Emergency Briefing, is fronted by Chris Packham and spearheads a major push to tell the British public the truth about the risks to the UK from the climate and nature crisis and about the solutions that exist - if we act fast enough.

Screenings focus on local action and the local MP is always invited and asked to ask the Government to do a prime-time, televised national emergency briefing on the crisis, mount a proper emergency response, and show international leadership.

Great to see it in Southport.

Southport, night out recommendations

Hi, I am organising a birthday party for a small group of ladies between 35 and 45yo. They would like to have an activity (like a sip and draw or cocktail making, etc), a meal, a place to go for cocktails and then some options for dancing. Thinking in Southport, Merseyside as accommodation seems so much cheaper than Liverpool!. Can anybody give any recommendations? should I stick to Liverpool?

Local Elections

Early news based on ongoing counts, Reform are doing surprisingly well. In the three wards I've looked at, it's LibDems or Reform. Labour, Tory and Green are no shows. Both "major" parties votes have collapsed. Regards from Aintree.

Tactical Voting

Hello - not interested in any political debates etc, but I’m just trying to understand who the tactical vote would be to stop reform taking control? I’m new to the area and I’m hearing different things from different people…

Charity places to donate items to ?

i’m currently clearing my dad’s house and I have lots of items I’m wanting to donate but not being a local I don’t know where to.

I have the following:

Tools - spanner’s , screwdrivers , grease etc

Electrical items - lots and lots of computer cables

Clothes - middle aged men clothes

Toiletries - sealed toiletries and tissues.

Towels and blankets - animal shelters?

Some basic mismatched furniture - anyone in need?

I would love for these to go to people that genuinely need them rather than a charity shop that they’ll sit in and gather dust.

I am Formby based but I can transport / be collected

Did anyone else hear that group shout thing?

I live near the asda with the bridge behind, our good old bumrape bridge, me and a brother just heard a large group shout, it was really weird!

It sounded like something you would hear at the start of a zombie apocalypse i think.

Any hotels that have bedrooms?

Me and my partner and 3 year old like coming to Southport to stay weekends a few times a year. We normally stick to the Travelodge or sometimes the Premier Inn.

We are going to go in June for 3 nights but also bringing my 1 year old nephew to give my sister a break lol. I'm just wondering is there any hotels that are kind of like little apartments? Doesn't have to have a kitchen in or anything. Just a room that has 2 bed rooms one my son can sleep in and maybe my nephew in a travel crib and ideally doesn't cost hundreds for a weekend if possible?

Whistlestop Cafe

Just found out it's shut. Does anybody know why?

Genuinely gutted as their breakfasts were amazing. Are they planning on opening up in new premises or working through a different business?

Quietish cafés/bars for reading

Got a list of books longer than my arm to get through and never make time at home, so am forcing myself to get out (with wife) for the odd reading afternoon.

It feels like a bit of a Goldilocks request these days, but we're after somewhere public but reasonably quiet and chill in the early afternoon. Lots of cafés/small pubs these days are full of mums with comically large prams and performative toddlers, or there's some yapping dog or other.

Can anyone think of anywhere comfy that does coffee & alcohol which tends not to attract the mum/dog crowd, and where they wouldn't consider us weird for just plonking down in the corner with a couple of books for a few hours?

Seeking creative friends

Does anyone want to do creative with me? Either just the two of us or with other people?

I mean stuff like make a film, create some art, renovate a house, go out dressed together in an interesting way (like fancy dress or something, but not tacky like a hen night, more classy).

Doesn't have to be too ambitious, like if it's making a film you can do a lot now with a smartphone. I don't know how to edit videos, I've only got basic tech knowledge but I have lots of ideas, I wrote a novel in the past.
