Wasn't it for a funeral? Very normal thing for Jewish people and others from other religions to attend such things for those they cared about.

I’m told that every episode that season had a character deliberately out of place like when butters was tagging a building

When I saw them I assumed they were there partially to socialize. I mean the priest ended a mass with a call and response "Let's Go!" "Let's Go" "Broncos" "Broncos" "Let's Go Broncos" "LETS GO!"
Originally South Park was a tiny town where the cows outnumbered the people, although it's a full town by now. I would think that the Jewish family might occasionally go to a service just to hang out with friends.
It doesn't explain the parents but as a kid my parents would let me go to whatever religious service the family of girl I slept over with went to as long as I didn't mind going. (I also know they wouldn't have allowed it if it was directly against their beliefs like the IBLP or something).
I went to temple once with a friend. My (devotedly Catholic dad thought it was neat.)

I know this shot was a funeral and isn't weird. But I'm gonna go off on a tangent and say it's always so strange to me (as a Jewish Christian) when people think it's strange for Jews to believe in Y'Shua.
Jews having a Jewish Messiah = weird? How so?

I understand it to an extent. I think many Christians are confused that Jews respect and see Jesus as a very holy Jewish man but not the son of God that he claimed to be. The thought being, if you reject the whole major thing that defined him, how do you still respect him as one of your own? Don't get me wrong, I get it, but I can see how many would inherently think that many jews view him as as a fraud and potentially outright disown him as one of their own.

My comment was about people who think it weird how many Jews do believe in Y'shua, not how many don't.
