I'm surprised they even came into Romans with all the black patrons sharpening their machettes ready to genocide.

Picture 65 years since the Sharpeville Massacre, where 69 unarmed children were killed by Apartheid police, many shot in the back while fleeing - do not ever believe that South Africa is worse today than it was 30 years ago

Our democracy is only 31 years old. Historiographically, we are so young and we are still very much a recovering repressive state. Never ever leave out how deeply evil and extractive Apartheid was, and everything it took from us and our parents and their parents and their parents - and how much we over came and continue to overcome. Our history is heartbreaking, but there is so much power there.

A luta continua, for our beautiful country and our beautiful people. For everything we deserve!

Nothing screams “historical amnesia” quite like calling your loss of privilege Apartheid 2.0. Apartheid was a state-orchestrated system of racial oppression; this is not that. Struggling under bad governance is not the same as decades of systemic brutality. It’s like a billionaire whining about “poverty” because their caviar shipment was late.

If these protesters want to complain about crime or economic hardship, fine. But to equate it with apartheid isn’t just inaccurate—it’s offensively absurd. At best, it’s ignorance; at worst, it’s self-pity masquerading as oppression.

Picture Given the current situation, is this viable for shipping lanes?

So, obviously this is a meme that was created a while ago when the Suez canal had that blockage. But it's relevant again now what with the Iran conflict happening.

Theoretically:

  1. Would this actually be viable for shippers to switch to?

  2. Would this sort of route have any meaningful/positive impact for us in terms of ships docking around the horn? (I'm not 100% certain if ships would have to even stop here like back in the day or are able to go all the way round 1-shot)

  3. If so, would our ports, as they are today, be able to handle this sort of influx if it happened?

I understand shrinkage happens. It slides under the radar and before you know it, you’re drinking a bottle of what USED to be 500ml soda. This “MAX” is the same size as what used to be a standard size chocolate bar, now it’s just called “max” but we pay more for the novelty of a larger sized chocolate?

Was at Rosebank and went to the bike outside Cultish today. Was floored and bamboozled at the blatant brandishing of such imagery and even worse was how the staff were totally ambivalent towards this whole mess.

I even asked the Monster Energy bakkie that was outside handing out cans about it and I got some ridiculous " to each their own" nonsense reply.

Picture A compilation of footage of South Africans fighting in the DRC over the past week. While many South Africans focus on the bad of the SANDF, it’s important to recognize the heroes we have currently fighting as peacekeepers.

Picture I hate that we have to live with the association that Musk was born here - He has been in the US longer than he was here. Comments are always "take him back SA" etc. And now CR is about to loosen laws/restrictions for this N*zi. He made 2 fascist salutes in the speech - this was not coincidence. NSFW
