I'm sure there's nothing suspicious here

I doubt there is. They were meant to fly to Mexico first for the opening game, not the US.
It’s most likely just some good old fashioned SAFA incompetence.

You don’t think their US visas would also be required as part of their travel itinerary? Come on now.

Oh, for sure. But what does recent history suggest? Does it seem far fetched that SAFA could’ve secured a visa for Mexico but not the US? I highly doubt Trump is worried about Bafana Bafana upstaging him or the US at the WC and so he “made a plan” when it came to their visas.

The same guy who got butt hurt and unilaterally changed the name of gulf of Mexico? The guy that bombed a country cause AIPAC gave him a happy meal?

This is 1000% a SAFA admin f up

I wish it wasn’t the case that the SAFA wouldn’t take the WC seriously: https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2026-05-31-safa-scores-another-own-goal-in-bafana-bafana-visa-bungle/

probably but let's not pretend the orange guy is sane.

Both can be true buddy — and, in this case, are. Criticising SAFA isn’t a defense of Trump, by the way.

It’s funny you think Trump will act unilaterally to change something as the name of a Gulf (and I agree it’s thin skinned, to say the least) but can be bought.

Please elaborate.

It doesn’t make logical sense that Trump does whatever he wants- acts unilaterally- but is beholden to someone or something. It’s a misreading of Trump because he only cares about himself. But I’m getting downvoted because people like conspiracy.

I know you are getting downvoted here, but I agree with you. Going by SAFA history the likeliest problem is at their doorstep…

Yep. It’s not like they’ve been preoccupied with a years-long corruption case…

What? I am absolutely shocked! Who could have predicted the thing that people warned might happen, would happen?

Interesting that anyone else would assume that the US has F****d up purposely yet SAFFAS assume it is SA. 🤔

Was thinking the same. I’m on board with the football association having dropped the ball

It's not the national team's problem, it is SAFA. They are the clowns and can't even organize coffee and rusks. Danny Jordaan has to leave ASAP
