Here in the UK, the Americans have bought and F****d up Cadburys. Much smaller, more cheaper ingredients and preservatives. Tastes like sugar not chocolate. Apparently once people get used to it you'll never know the difference.

Apparently they're leaving cocoa behind too, I mean who needs it right?? (Cadbury used to be soo good but it tastes weird now and doesn't melt properly anymore)

Cadbury literally was 2 glasses of milk and cocoa, not anymore. Enshittification has taken over.

And they still have the AUDACITY to have the glass and a half symbol on their chocolates. How?! How, when the whole slab is smaller?!

Dude, over here Cadbury has become just shy of the cost of those small Lindt bars.
I actively avoid Cadbury now. Why buy their slabs that taste honestly Meh now if for R20 more I can just yoink a freaken LINDT?!?!
Not to mention, after Easter every Clicks in the country has a sale on the Lindt Egg shaped chocolates

American chocolate is like American cheese - it’s really shit. And yet Americans love it - because, as you say, you get used to it.

When the fuck did they get rid of All Gold Simba chips? I'm coming back to SA in a few weeks and was hoping to bring a few bags home with me.

u/TheThoughtSource 25d ago

u/skaapjagter Rapture-Proof Like a Hilux 25d ago
No. Idk how to explain but it's not as strong as the all gold flavour was.

They do as far as I can tell but I am not a connoisseur of this particular flavor, some people may taste faint differences.

Joh, saying Wellington's and All Gold tastes the same is like saying Beacon and Cadbury chocolates taste the same

The flavouring on the chips tastes the same as far as I can tell. There's a difference between the sauce and the flavouring. Kind of like how the chutney chips doesn't taste exactly like the chutney sauce.

u/TheThoughtSource 25d ago
I agree. It’s like the unpopular chicken flavor turning into KFC Original Recipe flavor.

Only ever seen them at Engen.
Update: You’re right, just been to Engen, they’re the Wellington one. Sorry for your loss man. I’m in luck though because I genuinely can’t taste the difference.

It's not easy, but I try. Turns out life much healthier with less American garbage in it.

whew, for a bit there i misread and thought pepsico have gone and effe-d up the actual all gold tomato sauce recipe as well.
...i imagine there would be riots if that was to actually happen.

Saw them back on the shelves some time last year and I thought oh damn they brought them back... Well I was disappointed

u/Caffeinerunworksleep 25d ago
Well, All Gold is made by their competitor Tiger Brands.....

u/Sp00pyBoii_ Eastern Cape 25d ago
Yeah and Intel is currently in talks to start producing some AMD chipsets.
In 2006 Pepsi reported someone who tried to sell them the recipe to Coca Cola.
Competition is healthy, if you hurt the consumer experience you hurt your revenue stream.
We already lost the Steers Simba flavour, now they just bastardised the tomato sauce flavour to "save money" - absolutely disgusting.
