The 31 PGR v3 members not in the 2GG Championship yet that have a chance to be the Last Chance Qualifier:

  • Mr.R (9)
  • Marss (14)
  • Ranai (17)
  • ESAM (18)
  • Zinoto (20)
  • ANTi (21)
  • Locus (22)
  • 9B (23)
  • Elegant (25)
  • Tsu- (26)
  • Kameme (27)
  • falln (28)
  • MVD (29)
  • Mr.E (30)
  • 6WX (31)
  • Raito (34)
  • Earth (35)
  • Hikaru (36)
  • Ned (37)
  • Rich Brown (38)
  • Myran (39)
  • Manny (40)
  • ScAtt (41)
  • NAKAT (42)
  • Nietono (43)
  • Javi (44)
  • AC (45)
  • Edge (47)
  • JK (48)
  • Choco (49)
  • FOW (50)

I believe Lima and Charliedaking were the only players to get 10 or more 2GG points while not being on last season's PGR

Mr.R would deserve to get in since he tied for 19th in points, plus because of his accomplishments recently. I could see Elegant taking it as well, maybe even ESAM or ANTi.

That's what frustrates me the most. It was a tie, both of them should get in or have a playoff match. Best of 3 sets, each set is best of 5 games, to see who is guaranteed a spot.

Tests endurance, adaptability, prowess, clutch factor, and finishing ability.

Hype to watch, it's something we've never seen before. Back to back (to possibly back) 5 game sets? Long term vs short term adaptability?

Do the normal 30 seconds between games for rest or thinking.

5-10 minutes between sets.

You could have it where each player is allowed to confer with a coach, that must be named before the series start, and kept separate from other people as to not have 10 different others feeding them information.

Obviously this isn't necessary at all but I think in-between sets is fine because if it was a normal event someone can walk off stage and have a break and talk with people about the last set. This would keep that advantage but restrict it. And if one player declines a coach, neither player can use one.

This would also allow for commercial breaks. Also for the commentators or an analyst desk to go a little more deeply into replays, to review choices made, and each player's tactics from the last set.

We could see anything from a blowout to a 15 game marathon, and either way it would firmly give the indication of who deserves the automatic bid more.

Just a thought. /u/champtang what do you think of an idea like this?

One best of five would suffice IMO

also since they said WaDi already got in it wouldn't be that fair to revoke it. I would agree on playing to break ties though

I know it would suffice

But having it be a never before seen spectacle would build a lot of hype for the Championship. During the series they could run ads and promos for 2GGC and sell ad space to other events.

It's already a three day event, I think they are using a lot of time to stream the matches

And this would be a great way to kick it all off. A special event should start with a special event.

Though it could perhaps at a different event, but with specific 2GG graphics and whatnot.

I just would rather see a fight for the last spot instead of "okay...you."

WaDi did good to get 5th even if Mr.R placed more

one of them would have to go there and lose to one person though then be out the rest of the tournament

Ideally I would would want this showdown to be before the LCQ so that the loser could enter it after they lost.

But even if they held it at the start, then the loser gets to chill for 3 days at a venue and event that's freaking awesome and has the best of the best talent there to lab with. Not exactly a terrible consolation prize. They could even be utilized as a commentator or warm up partner for anyone else.

Again, just ideas. But there's something there.
