[Melee] Hi, I'm Dr.Peepee, ask me anything!

Hey guys, I was asked by Prog to make this post, and it sounded pretty fun so I decided to do it. I love talking to people and about smash so this is right up my alley haha. Like the title says, ask me anything!

Confirming this is him.

I'll throw in a question, how are you preparing with APEX 2013 next week?

Hey thanks Prog!

I'm preparing for Apex2013 in a few ways:

-reviewing Youtube matches of myself and my opponents

-Following a dedicated training routine

-Playing as much as possible with my little brother Twitch

-Theorycrafting

There's a lot to say about each of those and it would take a while to explain each, so I'll just leave it at that for now. =)

I'd love to here an explanation on theory crafting in Melee.

What would you like explained? Why it happens, or what it is, or what sorts of things are theorycrafted about?

What is being theorycrafted? My only guess is that it has to do with moves and their respective frames.

Just about anything gets considered. Moves and frame data is the tip of the iceberg; more in-depth discussion spans training methodology, spacing and stage control consideration, the entire mental aspect of the game and how one's mindset can affect gameplay, and much, much more. Many of these principles don't just apply to Smash and as such the discussion can span multiple fighting games, but Smash is often used as a starting point.

Huh, interesting. Just different variables than MMO theory crafting I guess.
