Who is in the line-up?

Cevin, Edward..... would I be crazy for hoping they could at least get Ryan Moore?

Dre? the Doc?

I miss Ryan! I went to see Download in Dallas, back in the 90s and Twilight Circus opened (then Ryan played with DL as well, IIRC). I ended up chatting with Ryan in the parking lot and he was so kind and gracious and curious about the music I was making. Just a genuinely kind human being.

I went to the Houston show on that tour..

My roommate's friend was Cevin's green guy, so we all smoked with Cevin afterward and my roommate gave Mark Spybey shit about his sound.

Met Ryan after a dots show on the Shadow weaver tour... real down to earth guy.

So what kind of music you making?

I haven't written anything in years, but I'd say it was broadly industrial. Here's the last song I wrote back in 2002 (damn, has it been that long?!?)

Toronto!!!!

Really happy to see a Minneapolis date, all the recent shit going on around here seems to have made a lot of bands skip us on recent/current tours.

Glad to see the few based bands playing for Minneapolis in solidarity with the folk though. Fuck ICE.

Wow, the Grog shop in Cleveland!

I'm tempted to go. I love the Grog Shop.

Oh man, Le Poisson Rouge in NYC is fantastic. So intimate. I saw Peter Murphy there and, well, you can see here how close I was.

I was there last for Peter Murphy's Bauhaus night, which had HORRIBLE sound, and Peter was sick. Best memory was Peter responding to the audience's complaints with 'Don't blame me. I'm a fucking Legend' Hahaha

I've seen him probably a half-dozen times and he's always got some snarky remark about something. In the video I linked (filmed the day Prince died) he talks about Bowie and Prince's deaths briefly in a....bizarre way. He did a really nice cover of Bowie's Bewlay Brothers, which is probably the last song I'd have expected anyone to choose as a tribute. But hey, at least he wasn't ejected from his own show any of the times we've seen him, right?

FWIW, while Peter seemed to have an issue with the mix, it sounded fine from where I was sitting.

Why no Vancouver show?

I still contend that they could do a co-headlining tour with Delerium and print money across like 35 cities.

Retro Delerium set, like FLA's current tour?

I think they could do what Maynard did with the Sessanta tour. Put everyone on stage and rotate between Tear Garden, Delerium & Cyberaktif, with some Hilt and Legendary Pink Dots thrown in. Get a bunch of guests in various cities, and I'd take enough PTO to follow the whole tour.

Oh come on guys, no Hotlanta?

This was my thought as well. Bummed as I can’t make the other dates.

Come to England, Edward FFS!

Anyone think they’ll add some south eastern dates?

The Grog Shop in Cleveland is small. Holds a couple hundred people [my guess is capacity of ~300]. Seems like more would want to see them.

Grog shop holds 400. Cool place but terrible sight lines and poor acoustics. Beachland holds 500 and is better all around.

2

u/redtf111 20d ago

Damn, can't believe their capacity is 400! No way 400 people can actually see the stage.

I saw the Legendary Pink Dots at the Grog shop three years ago and they drew a smaller crowd. Thinking a similar crowd size for this one.

LPD plays smaller venues than Skinny Puppy did. Would Tear Garden's potential audience be in between?

1

u/Lucky-Resolution890 20d ago

If they do hopefully they will add another day or move to agora or globe

2

u/outofpeaceofmind 20d ago

Not that they'll have the same pull as Skinny Puppy, but when that last tour sold out instantly, they moved from shit clubs to proper auditoriums.

u/Exact_Frame_9535 20d ago

Nice, I was hoping for a Toronto show. Just gotta get the money now

2

u/Jaxager 20d ago

I saw Dick Dale at the Grog Shop in Cleveland. Very small venue. I would love to see them there.

Was going to fly to Chicago for the opener for ColdWaves but now I don't have to!

Baltimore > DC On a Monday

I was gonna say RIP FL, but I think they were just in Orlando or somewhere up that way in Feb. If I'm remembering that right. Before this got announced. I recall being bummed I couldn't make it up.

Wish they had a show in Atlanta or SC.

Don’t anticipate being able to justify a roadtrip expense…but my uncle’s cancer docs don’t expect him to live to his birthday, and it’s right by his birthday and it’s the kind of “I know it’s not your scene, but…” I’d love to bring him to. Defying expectations and all that. 🫥
