Turismo 🧳 vacation advice

hello everyone, I’m planning to go to Sicily for two weeks. I’ll be in Palermo for a week and that’ll be my base to travel to see a few different destinations. I’m spending another week but I want to stay at one place and I don’t know where to go yet. I want to be near the beach but in a smaller city. Something that feels kinda familiar. A few restaurants and bars. I’d love to hear your recommendations :)

Search and build a stick figure itinerary first, based on your interests

Only staying in Palermo will restrict day trips to the north and west. If you want to hit spots like Taormina, Catania, Siracusa/Ortigia (big fan), Noto, Modica, etc. then you’d benefit from moving your home base closer. Otherwise the driving back and forth would zap so much time

Would you want to stay in the same area ? So for example Mondello or Castellammare might be options to have a new base. If you're looking to move (which would make sense), then you could consider the east side (Taormina, or further south towards Siracusa for example).
