Tubing

Does anybody pull a tube with their Sea Doo 170?

Just remember most states require a spotter and that the people on the tube count again the passenger limit for the ski. So driver, spotter, and tuber would be the limit for a three person ski. My state doesn't require a spotter if the ski has mirrors so I get two tubers. And yes I have gotten a ticket for having a driver and three tubers even though it was a three person tube.

But it also states “Capacity: The jet ski must be designed to seat at least three people—the driver, the observer, and the person being towed.
Observer (Spotter): A competent observer must be on board to watch the person on the tube, unless the PWC is equipped with factory-installed rearview mirrors that are at least 4 inches wide/high.
Time Restriction: Towing is only allowed between sunrise and sunset.
Life Jackets: Everyone involved—including the person on the tube—must wear a US Coast Guard-approved life jacket.

No, the mirror has to be the appropriate size (the built-in mirrors are too small) and you can have no more people total than the PWC can legally carry.

Yes. I do. Usually with a Y adaptor from the transom hooks. Two points of contact.

I have for a couple years now. Using the center rear tow point. I got a booster ball to help get the lines up out of the water.

I have a GTI SE 170

i have a 2007 gti se and pull a tube. the booster ball is much needed to keep the rope from spraying water in their eyes. plenty of power, can pull up a slalom ski.

I have a GTR 230 and pull my kids all the time. The GTR 230 is a three seater and in MO you need a spotter or Ski mirror that’s atleast 3”x8” so I found one on Amazon and Jerry rigged the mirror on and haven’t had any issues.

I use a Y harness with a boaster ball and it keeps the line out of the water and helps cut down a spray in their faces.

Pulled with a 155 no issues, like everyone else said get one of those balls that goes on the line, complete game changer in terms of power needed

there's a YouTube video of a 170 pulling TWO tubes at once with no issues at all. It's plenty powerful.

I have pulled for years with my GTI SE 130. I have suction cup mirrors to be legal for 1 driver and 2 tubers (on a 3-up model). But not every state allows this. The tubing/skiing laws vary quite a lot by state.
