I am sharing this here because investigators and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) have identified California—specifically the San Pedro and Los Angeles areas—as primary regions of interest in the ongoing search for Mason Roberson.

The Case Context & California Connection:

The Disappearance: Mason originally went missing from his home in Anchorage, Alaska, on May 18, 2024, when he was 16 years old.

The Digital Lead: Mason was an avid online gamer. After his disappearance, his family discovered that he had previously discussed plans with friends to travel to California to meet someone he met over the internet.

The Text Message: On his 17th birthday, his mother received a mysterious, unsolicited text message from a San Pedro, California area code (310/424). The message used a specific phrase unique to their family.

Current Status: Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, are actively pursuing leads in California. Because the case recently passed the two-year mark, NCMEC has released an official age-progression image showing what he likely looks like today at age 18.

Description:

Current Age: 18 years old (16 at the time he went missing)

Physical Traits: White male, curly brown hair, brown eyes. He frequently wears glasses.

Note: When he left, he had well-developed facial hair for his age, which may make him appear older than 18 now.

The family and investigators actually believe he may have traveled to Southern California to meet someone he met online. His mom even received a text from a San Pedro area code after he disappeared, so investigators are specifically asking people across Southern California to keep an eye out.

Crazy. Hope he is safe and reaches his family. Now he is 18 he can be by himself if he does not want to be with them but don't leave them in limbo.
