Video Mexican law enforcement discovered a 869-foot-long tunnel in between San Diego and Mexico
274
u/Background_Share_982 8h ago
They find one of these every 7 years are so, one time there was one going into a kfc or some other fast food place.
Tunnel build quality has definitely been improving over the years.
45
u/Old-Library5546 7h ago
It probably takes that long to build them
57
u/cityshepherd 7h ago
Maybe, but I feel like there are always multiple tunnels being used with multiple new ones be g built simultaneously pretty much all the time.

I have been here for less than 6 years and I feel like I have seen at least 3 different post like this over the years.

Yeah, just lke the 1% of what they catch on drugs!(Verbatim from CBP instructor in Virginia. Sorry not sorry). They make a big stink on the bust, Knowing many more loads have made it . Just a Dog and pony show showing they’re doing something With our taxes, lol because we’re short of drugs in America and illegals, right? never hVe I ever ..blah blah 😑

Everyone attempting to justify the billions in intrediction costs for never stopping anything possibly affecting end user costs slightly. One of the worst most destructive policies in American history
3
u/SwillFish 4h ago
I read an article once about a Mexican guy who was kidnapped by a cartel and forced to dig a tunnel with a couple other kidnap victims. It took them several months but they were eventually released unharmed and unpaid for their labor.

u/Batmanue1 7h ago
But we can't get a transit system from SD to Temecula?
128
u/MAD-1R 7h ago
Maybe we can pay the cartels to build a publicly accessible high-speed drug tunnel from SD to SF.
28
23
u/ganlet20 7h ago
Or a trolley to the airport.
•
u/Whatisnotmyproblem 54m ago
Since 1980 they have been talking about it even in the original discussion. In half a century they haven’t been able to figure it out. I’m happy to try a different method via the cartels
99
u/Big_Animal7655 8h ago
NGL I’d pay money to ride that
50
u/DoctorBallsJohnson 8h ago
Mom said it's my turn to ride the drug pulley!

u/Big_Animal7655 8h ago
“there is no earthly way of knowing in which direction we are going…….is it raining, is it snowing, is a hurricane a‘ blowing?” 🎵🎶🎵 🤣

48
u/ledouxrt 7h ago
So you'd pay money, but you're not willing to smuggle drugs in your butt? You must not want to ride it very much.

people do pay for rides on things like this but it'll be $$$$$$$ just a heads up

Where?

Look at the video, beginning theyre sliding LOL

u/hijolechingada 6h ago
They said it sends them. Where it sends them?

u/GregSDCA 7h ago
Every few years they find one.
They’re already building two or three more to replace this one.

21
u/brionicle 7h ago
Can we pay these people to build high speed rail tunnels instead? This is serious engineering.
34
u/ExcitingInflation612 8h ago
“Possibly connects”
28
u/callagem 6h ago
To a "known street". I was unaware there are unknown streets in San Diego?
5
u/TheLoathsomeAssEater 4h ago
Where the streets have no name
We're still building then burning down love0
48
u/Accomplished-Elk7171 8h ago
Now do the ones attached the Amazon distribution centers in Otay Mesa.
11
u/LittleYellowPill 7h ago
Border patrol uses ground sensors to track foot traffic but those can't detect major mining opperations?
72
u/Enumerous 8h ago
Build that fence taller! Lol
22
u/SeamusMcBalls 7h ago
Everyone knows that humans are no smarter than antelope and fences confound every attempt to cross a boundary. Obviously.
-3
u/ankole_watusi 7h ago
Build it taller on in the other direction - down.
6
u/Neophile_b 7h ago
That's not really an economically viable option
-7
u/ankole_watusi 7h ago
Yet - building that tunnel apparently was!
6
u/Neophile_b 6h ago edited 3h ago
Building a tunnel and building a barrier to prevent any tunnels from happening or not comparable. An underground barrier would have to stretch an enormous distance horizontally. That would cost orders of magnitude more than all the tunnels that I've ever been built under our border. And even if it was built, The likely response would be to tunnel deeper

Key Word here is “discovered”😂 as if was thru investigation
Mexican authorities on all levels are colluded with this activity
Must’ve not paid the corespondent fee and got called out

9
u/freexanarchy 7h ago
For every one they find, there must be like 10 other ones they don’t, yeah?
12
u/Ok_Excitement725 7h ago
Yup agreed, and the ones that get “found” probably aren’t in use anymore and given to the cops to distract from the new ones elsewhere. Rinse and repeat every so often and keeps the drugs moving freely
12
8
u/Special-Potato-3238 7h ago
All I see is innovation and possibility. Yeah, I get this crazy underground system is driven by money (power) but that's just the stimulus of motivation. I mean, really, look at the level of human willpower, determination and dedication this takes to build. Imagine a mind shift where humans applied this level of effort to make the world a kinder, more creative and joyful place. Fixed mindsets be clogging up reality.
....Some say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one

I like to believe my tortoise is part of the digging team because he digs like crazy and comes home covered with mud.

u/firestepper 5h ago
saying that it 'possibly connects to a known san diego street' is suprisingly vague? Can't they just go to the end of the tunnel and see where it connects??? lol
5
u/beingafunkynote 4h ago
I’m gonna assume they don’t want people knowing where to secret drug tunnel is.

u/gregory92024 4h ago
As the president of Mexico pointed out, drug smuggling wouldn't be such a huge problem if Americans weren't buying so damn many drugs.

So it's just 900 feet from San diego to Mexico? So they mean San Diego county and not the city?
•
u/astraeoth 12m ago
San Ysidro was rezoned San Diego to legally justify more ICE agents. I'm sure it's there. I used to live there. I could see the Tijuana from my house.

Why don’t they just keep the tunnel open and charge people to take it?
They should commercialize these haha

u/RubPrimary6767 7h ago
How do they move all the dirt out of the homes as they build?

They show one of these being constructed in Narcos Mexico including dirt disposal

u/BrothelBroth08 7h ago
No I dont think they discovered it i think they got found out and needs someone to blame. Its 2026 with all the tech we have and all the shit they hid I'm finding impossible to believe anything the news and authorities say these days.

u/Repulsive_Policy4924 6h ago
Exactly ,it’s lkke modern da hanging hangings to show that they’re making a step towards whatever the issue is blah blah they did it to a Appease the people or whatever lobbyist Organization or group paid for that Senator to do so he’s it she is crunching down on their money to be Coughed up in action! Haha

u/Jar-Jar-Kinx 4h ago
You’re telling me that the Mexican authorities discovered this before the US with their super strong secure borders and militia??? Its almost as if one side is properly doing their job and the other is busy fighting their own citizens. /s

All our friggin money flushed down the drain to ICE and Homeland to supposedly strengthen our borders (like I care), and of course- “Mexican law enforcement discovered“
1
u/jsn_online 6h ago
Why are these always shown after the fact. Where are the arrests and executions. I know its an ongoing process but intermediate results would be nice. Not just the dude that watered the plants on the weekends. The heads of operations.
1
u/AccomplishedGrab788 6h ago
No matter the case its amazing how these guys make these tunnels without any major equipment with just basic tools & good ol fashion man muscle. Talk about digging ditches for a living

u/Sure_Surprise_1661 5h ago
You ever been to a construction site in America, where are all those workers from?
0
u/Suspicious-Prompt200 4h ago
Nobody is illegal. They should just allow anyone using this tunnel to sneak people in to just continue sneaking the people in.
-2
u/CauliflowerBoth866 5h ago
ICE would rather be storming neighborhoods than investigating tunnels built by criminal organizations.
-28
u/LegalGlass6532 8h ago
How does everyone feel about open borders now?
31
11
u/MAD-1R 7h ago
Are the people asking for open borders in the room with us now?
-11
u/LegalGlass6532 7h ago
I don’t know. I do know it’s pretty scary to see this video and know it’s Mexican law enforcement who discovered it and not US law enforcement. How many others like this are out there in Otay Mesa under all those commercial buildings?
7
u/MAD-1R 7h ago
Why bring up open borders as if it's some widely held position if you "don't know" that anyone's actually holding said position?
-1
u/LegalGlass6532 7h ago
Definitions matter. If by ‘open borders’ you mean no border controls at all, that’s a pretty small group. If you mean looser immigration policies, then there are plenty of people who support that.
5
u/MAD-1R 7h ago
If definitions matter, why are you using "open borders" to describe a position that isn't the actual definition of open borders?
My guess is strawmanning.

This isn’t the clever gotcha you think it is. This is illegal and always has been, not a single person is advocating for this.
-2
u/LegalGlass6532 7h ago edited 7h ago
I’m not trying to “gotcha” anyone. I worked in this exact community for years and have seen firsthand the crime associated with this type of illegal activity. This video needs to be seen to reinforce the need for law enforcement patrol at our southern border.
There are thousands of good people and families of US and Mexican decent living on the US side of the border who need to be protected from the crime resulting from illegal drugs entering our country.
3
2
u/Sturdywings21 4h ago
Then why is ice spending their time arresting hard working non criminal workers instead of actually doing something to impact the actual crimes being committed. Instead of patrolling Home Depot parking lots, go walk the warehouses at otay Mesa looking for tunnels. No one wants open boarders but we do want effective policies.
1
u/LegalGlass6532 4h ago
What they’re currently doing is wrong, I agree. I can tell you my theory and it’ll be downvoted like I agree with it so I’ll start by saying….I do not agree with what ICE agents seem to be currently doing.
I believe ICE is doing what they’re doing because it’s easy and lazy and makes for “numbers” for their Boss in DC. They are hoping to instill fear in the undocumented people and hoping that fear will lead to a reduction in undocumented crime and reporting of crime.
It’s an absolute misuse and misappropriation of power and disgusting to use fear to dissuade an undocumented victim from reporting a crime in order to keep your crime stats down. It’s a human rights violation and undocumented people have the right to report crimes without fear of retaliation or punishment.

It’s too simple doesn’t matter the year what time frame with the people are it’s called one Word voters and that’s about it. We think we’re laughing at them in the stupidity , In actuality They are laughing at us., They know how to keep secrets locked , Decades, 20 years 50 yrs! They’re making big steps that affect their generations later in life that we don’t even have a clue of: And that’s all fine and dandy but The problem is it’s with our money, mfers!
