Trip Planning 2 week PNW July Road Trip, where to head after Astoria?

We are embarking on a 2 week road trip through Oregon and Washington next month and cannot decide where we should go for 2-3 days near the end of the journey. Our route so far:

Portland > Mt Hood > Bend > Crater Lake > Bandon/Coos Bay > Florence/Heceta Head > Yachats > Newport > Depoe Bay/Lincoln > Pacific City/Tillamook > Cannon Beach > Astoria

After that we are stuck on where to go the next 2-3 days. Options we are considering are Olympic, Victoria, San Juan Islands, or Vancouver. Flying out of Seattle. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe add a day earlier in your trip to take 199 and hit Redwood N&SP between Crater Lake and Bandon? The section south of Bandon is arguably the most scenic stretch of the Oregon coast. Otherwise after Astoria go up the coast to Olympic NP and then ferry across the sound to Seattle.

Olympic peninsula/ Hoh rainforest is unique. Also Victoria is better than Vancouver in my opinion -- I would recommend the ferry from Port Angelas.

Olympic, Hoh rain forest are really nice. Go out to Cape Flatery and stop for some Dungeness crab.

Do you have a place you recommend for crab? I just keep reading about bad summer traffic around Olympic and Hoh. We will have been in the truck for a week straight prior to this so wondering if this is the right move

All of the areas you describe will be busy. It is peak summer season.

But yes, if you go out to Neah Bay instead of Forks and stay on the 112 instead of 101, you will see fewer people.

Also, i didn't notice: are you driving an RV or a trailer? In which case, ignore the Olympic peninsula. Signed, everyone behind you.

Neither, just a pickup truck.

The native American reservation is a decent place, and was much less expensive than anyplace in Seattle.

Orcas Island. You’ll need to make a ferry reservation in advance.
