He really was so good in this role. The tie touching etc. I remember crying with laughter as a 14yo watching this with my parents when it aired originally. It's amazing how different his output is now

Needs that lanky co-director to tell him how to be socially awkward.
Now he is just too social and too awkward.

Actually from what I remember it was only a few takes as it was so physically demanding on him. You can see characters corpsing in the background which shows that they couldn't have done this too many times

Loads. Cause he kept saying 'I'm not doing it, I'm not doing it, stop asking me to do it' to the rest of the tired and bored cast.

Cheers to Neil for immediately leading the applause, jeers to Jamie for clapping in half time.

He had to keep stopping to catch his breath, huffing and puffing, like a bison.

Funny thing: On that day’s shoot Ricky brought in a fella nobody’d seen before. Quite little bloke, kept to himself, kept his head down. Wore a long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, didn’t talk to anybody, except Ricky off to the side. When Steve asked Ricky who he was Ricky said, “Oh, that’s just someone I’ve brought in to help me with the choreography for my dance scene.” No one thought much about it. After Ricky’s scene was done, the other cast and crew wanted to thank the choreographer, but he was gone. What they did notice, though, was all the bananas missing from the craft services table.

I love the special, but I like the thought of everything to end on a miserable note
