This is one of the most depressing episode of the serie so far.
He litteraly can't be happy, if it's not him destroying it, it's the others by rickochet
The post-credits scene make it a little lighter but still

I am blown away by the animation team. If the first two episodes look like this, I can’t imagine what the rest of the season looks like. Amazing world building.

The writers and animators must of done a shit ton of Adderall and Coke because it's top tier and made with time and love

this is the beauty one gets when Dan Harmon isn’t in a depressed “do-nothing/bed-rot”-state of which I am all too familiar, but when the man is motivated to work what he makes is untouchably good…Community was one of the greatest series of all time and when Rick & Morty announced Harmon was joining Roiland to work the show I absolutely knew it was going to be a winner, even with the Roiland “scandal” (of which I say in quotes because I believe the whole “guilty until proven innocent” in the court of public opinion was at work here because correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he acquitted and his allegations withdrawn by the supposed victim?…I may have that wrong, there were some texts that didn’t look great if I remember correctly, but idr)
Anyway, TL;DR Dan Harmon shows are good, except for that one with the mythical gods, you know the one

Plot twist, these two is where all the budget went and is stick figures from here on.

Idk to me it seems like he just doesn’t like being Rick. Or being a genius. Even though he was still Ted he basically reverted back to Rick and he was happier when he thought he was just Ted

Honestly, I find this episode a little bit uplifting (if you look past the mountain of sadness). To me, Ted’s descent feels a lot more like season 1 Rick than season 9 Rick. He’s come a long way.

No, it was already dark from the beginning. Rick having a normal life isn't an usual thing.

Exactly, by now we can expect shit to go down when we see him having "a normal life moment"

Really small nitpicky thing with nothing related to what your saying but it's actually a unusual not an unusual

It's not a Rick and Morty episode if you don't feel depressed afterwards

I hated this episode so much

It's dark, but so creative at the same time, so I loved it. Just see it as "an episode", not "omg, everything is so depressive now"

Simple Rick died, then Homesteader Rick died, now Ted is presumably dead. This Rick archetype is just too good for the multiverse.
