My Puppy This is Apollo, he's 3.5 months this week!

I just wanted to gush about how much I love this lil guy. I've seen so many posts about puppy blues and puppy regrets that I almost feel like there's something wrong with me for not feeling that πŸ˜‚ We got him at eight weeks old.

He's a purebred long-haired German shepherd, and very much in bitey/landshark/velocitaptor phase right now, and NOT perfect by any means, haha. He's chewed the cord to my work laptop's power supply as well as a nice (but thankfully old) pair of wired headphones, and loves to find trash to pull out of trashcans and make a mess with, haha. He screams whenever me or my husband leave the room he's in; he's a velcro-dog for sure and we need to work on his separation anxiety (any tips on that?). And he's super ADHD, so training him is hard despite him being really smart and catching on fast--he just gets distracted and stops listening a lot of the time.

But despite all this, he has genuinely made my life so much better. I wake up every morning excited to let him out of his crate and say hi to him, it's so much easier to get out of bed now. I'm very prone to depression and was worried about puppy blues, especially since he's my first puppy after a failed experience as a child where my parents got me a dachshund puppy and ended up rehoming her after a couple of weeks because they couldn't deal with her. But he just... Makes me so happy whenever I see him. My husband says I'm being to soft on him but I just love him so so much. I'm doing so much research and even want to start buying some raw treats and whatnot for him. My husband has a golden retriever but she never felt like "mine" since he had her before we met.

I might be a little obsessed. And I thought I was only a cat person.

He is truly beautiful and enjoy every moment with him as they are sadly not on this earth as long as we want them to be. Take it from me who lost her fur baby 2 years ago and yes I still grieve for him wishing I had done so many more things with him even though he had a fabulous life. Love your Apollo with every breath and I wish you nothing but joy and happiness with him. The unconditional love they give is the purest simplest devotion you’ll ever know along with the warmth and their wagging tail. Again he is gorgeous ❀️

Aw, I'm so sorry for your loss. I love this boy so much, I can only imagine how painful it'd be after years with them. I'll definitely try to cherish every single moment πŸ’– Trying to live life more in the moment--we can learn a lot from our dogs in that respect! Thank you so much ❀️
