[USA] Did anyone start out in community college?

It’s the best option for me financially but I’m scared it won’t be as worth it as a 4 year. I want to get my associates and then transfer to a 4 year for my bachelors. Has anyone done the same route and how did it go?

I know there’s lots of school ahead if I want to be a therapist or psychologist so I thought this was a good idea to save on debt?
