SHOW NEWS/DISCUSSION Wholeheartedly believe that this would’ve been a better decision for the color assignments
Aside from Orion, it makes more sense for Troy, Noah, and Jake.
In Gokaiger, Joe’s a swordsman who seems very stoic, Troy is the only member of the team who’s a swordsman and is infamous for him not showing very much emotion. Also it’d be referencing Rocky & TJ, Red Rangers who became Blue Rangers (since, you know, it’s an anniversary show).
In Gokaiger, Doc’s the smart guy of the group who isn’t very confident in his skills. That literally fits Noah’s character considering that’s the basis of an episode in Megaforce.
In Gokaiger, Gai is very hyper and upbeat, and Jake is the most eccentric member of the Megaforce team.
Of course Orion when we look at how Megaforce actually turned out doesn’t match Captain Marvelous’s demeanor, but since he comes in later anyways he can pretty much have his personality be different than how it actually is in the show.

If wanting to match up with the characterisation for each in the Sentai, absolutely yes. The only issues I could see is needing to write out Jake for a bit and write in Orion, but those could be done with enough planning

Pretty much an In Space situation. Orion's backstory can even remain unchanged. You might have to rewrite the origins of the powers a bit where Orion has the keys instead of Gosei.

There is one way that it makes sense for Gosei to have the keys instead of Orion

I fully agree, having the Megaforce powers destroyed (you had the 199 warrior battle right there, just use that), and then the next wave of the armada comes and the powerless rangers get overwhelmed, Jake captured and then new powers from a new red (hell even an older ranger like Cam who has the ability to create a new power set)
It'd not necessarily save the season, but itd make way more sense!

The logic on Troy and Noah actually holds up. Would have given the team better personality matches without forcing the Sentai quirks.

This shit is just Hunterkiller1440's Super Megaforce rewrite.

I know that, doesn’t mean that it’s not valid, their personalities match better with the characters here than what they actually got, it makes Sentai footage integration more seem less.

Does that really matter when it comes to the point OP is trying to make? OP never even claimed it was their original idea. You’re being so hostile for no reason.

Maybe crediting the guy/(girl?) who got that color selection would have avoided my snarky comment.

That’s already assuming that Hunterkiller even came up with that color lineup in the first place. Anybody who’s watched both Megaforce & Gokaiger would be able to make the connection that this lineup would be much better, Hunterkiller just popularized it.

Who’s that

I always see them in random YouTube comments like Justin Y., I didn't think they'd be this much of a known figure in the Power Rangers fandom.

How would you write Jake out of the story before he returns again as Silver?
