Art I made some pokemon x dnd starters
Hope you all enjoy my vision of a fantasy rpg style pokemon!

Please do more of this, your art style is cool af and this crossover is absolutely awesome. Popplio as a bard would be great. Chikorita as a druid, Fennekin as a cleric or something. Now I want to do this myself. Thanks for the inspo!

Chikorita is definitely a cleric, so supportive. Bulbasaur is the Druid who just wants to be left alone and unleashed all manner of horrifying nature against his enemies.

Unless we go the route of 3.5/4e D&D or Pathfinder or something, there is more starters than D&D 5e classes (there is 13 Classes, 12 if you exclude Artificer, and 27 Starters) we are gonna have some overlap, so two can be Druids. That said, I feel Turtwig would fit better as a warrior (Sword & Board) or a maybe a Monk.

Nah the "rage" and dual welding is good enough for me. Looks amazing. Totodile has been my fav since gen2 launched. So much so, it was my first tattoo.

I think Gen 2 starters were the best overall group (hot take, I know), but I ALWAYS went Totodile, such an ace poke.
The jolly nature plus raging barbarian is also a cool bit of characterization

Totadile: Berserker Barbarian
Treeko: Gloomstalker Ranger
If we're sticking to Poke'D&D.
Then we could have:
Bulbasaur: Circle of Land Druid
Squirtle: Oath of Glory Paladin
Torchic: Open Hand Monk
Mudkip: GREAT OLD ONE WARLOCK
Cindaquill: Draconic Sorcerer
Chikorita: Life Domain Cleric

I did frame by frame animation. I used photoshop and procreate, depending on whether I was drawing on pc or ipad

I didn't plan to animate it but it felt right after finishing the drawing. I've never done idle animations like this before. Charmander was the first, then Totodile then Treeko. I personally feel it got smoother

I would love to see move of these, great job op. Have you created mage classes for some of the starters too? Or are they in the works?
I like the idea of the rage state for totodile, it would be be cool to see a similar "trance" state for a mage starter, like fennekin or popplio

On the one hand, having a grass-starter ranger be anything other than rowlett is ironic
On the other hand, treeko as a ranger feels pretty perfect all the same.

So cool, I want a little diablo like game like this in an alternate pokemon world with no humans. Or maybe a fantasy setting with artifact like pokeballs that the humans use but to face dangers in the wilds, like pokemon are guardian creatures. Love this art!
