Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Delayed swelling?
So I did my conch on Tuesday and it was fantastic until last night about 2am, it actually woke me up. I bragged to my husband before bed lastnight that it felt great with no swelling then boom! Its so dam sore. I have seen some posts about delayed swelling but is it really a thing? And why? And is it normal?
Not downsized, 4 days old, saline 2-3x a day, no bumps or mishaps, implant grade and 10mm long labret type flatback first 2 pics Tuesday fresh and next are like 3am last night.

It took my ear nearly 2 weeks to swell to the point of needing a longer bar. I happenes to have a doctor's appt (dermatologist) set up for 2 weeks after my piercing anyway so I waited for that appt. It had only gotten bad a day or two before the appt. The dermatologist said it was infected and prescribed antibiotics. I called my piercer after the appt while waiting for the pharmacy to fill my prescription. He had me come in that same day and said it was just too swollen to where there was nowhere for it to drain. He said he couldn't tell me it wasn't infected but in his opinion, it wasn't. After I got the bar switched out it was better the next day. I didn't need the medication because it wasn't actually an infection.
I haven't had any real issues since then and my piercer said it looks amazing. I've had it for almost 7 months now.
