Delayed swelling?

So I did my conch on Tuesday and it was fantastic until last night about 2am, it actually woke me up. I bragged to my husband before bed lastnight that it felt great with no swelling then boom! Its so dam sore. I have seen some posts about delayed swelling but is it really a thing? And why? And is it normal?

Not downsized, 4 days old, saline 2-3x a day, no bumps or mishaps, implant grade and 10mm long labret type flatback first 2 pics Tuesday fresh and next are like 3am last night.

my conch swelled pretty bad on day 2/3 had to take tylenol and ibu to help with the pain. but slowly got better. if the bar is getting embedded consult ur piercer

Yes I've definitely been taking ibuprofen! Not sleeping on it, I got a piercing pillow right away. Totally curious why it doesnt swell right away?!
