Soft collars i made 🥹

Hi all, my boy has an underwing plucking issue going on for couple of months and vet gaved us a plastic e-collar. In the country where i live there is no other collars than plastic so i made my sweety a soft collar because plastic one cuts his neck skin 😭 He is really comfy in his collar and i thought, i should make more to give the vet so babies in need gets some comfort 😭😭 Vet really liked the idea so im making them. Just wanted to share for people who wants to make their own. Just cut a 10,5 cm diametered circle from bird safe felt and and add another layer for thickness, sew them together open a small neck area and decorate them how you want. Thats it ✨

These are so good! My GCC used some similar to these for about 2 years due to snipping feathers.

I hope you're able to identify what triggers your baby.

In our case, his trigger was being left alone (which rarely happened since I wfh). Anything more than 1hr alone would lead to feather snipping. We got a second GCC and although he doesn't like her yet and they have to be in separate cages (that are together while out) he stopped snipping and had only don't it once in the past 4 months (he's been without his cone as well).

Im glad your birdie is ok now 🙏 i dont think mine's problem is phsylogical because he pulls feather in his left underwing and bites through skin. He looks so itchy before doing it 😓 We tried liver enlargement treatment, mice treatment, parasite treatment and some topical inflamation creams, vitamin supports... Nothing worked. Out last idea is maybe he has Giardia? He does not have a diarria but sometimes has weird poops and they all so big. I dont know... I just want this phase to be over because i love him so much
