Anyone working in the Harwell Space Cluster?
Throwaway account. I’m considering a move to an established start up there. I have 10 years exp at the forefront of a niche technology in space flight and I’m in a very strong position to negotiate.
I’m sure it varies but was wondering if anyone can benchmark a typical salary in the cluster for Head of / VP / Director roles?
Thanks,

It's higher than national averages, lower than central London. Need more information to give anything more concrete. Could be £50k, could be £250k.
Will you be leading a department of 5, or 50? Is it head of marketing, finance, or something technical?

"An established start up" ?
You say you're in a strong position to negotiate but you don't seem to even have a baseline yet!
Anyway... anyone job title isn't enough to benchmark a salary. It depends what you're the Head of... Or are you really a VP or are you a 'VP'? You can be Head of <niche technology> and still be three reporting levels deep below the board.
You really need to think about the value you think you'll bring to the business.
Let's say you expect to bring in £10 million of revenue and £1 million of profit. Then you might think £200,000 is a fair salary. You might get there by having £125,000 base, £25,000 cash bonus and £50,000 RSUs.
All of which is to say; it's impossible to give a benchmark with the information you've provided. It could be anywhere from £50k to £500k.
