How do Norwegian speakers really understand spoken Danish? I’m watching a show in Norwegian, Home for Christmas, and while I can somewhat make out what the Norwegian cast are saying, for the life of me I don’t understand how Norwegian speakers are able to understand spoken Danish without problems

Seems to be pretty subjective, but I'd say it's kind of like trying to understand someone speaking with a thick Scottish or Australian accent as an American. It is basically the same language, after all, just with an unfamiliar pronunciation.

For me personally it can be a little hard to catch what they're saying at first, but with a little concentration it "clicks" pretty quickly.
