On the other hand at least sometime the US would have to militarily confront Iran. If not now then some years down the road.

How many Americans has Iran killed over the years

Probably thousands by now? If the timeline is starting with the marine corps barracks bombing in Lebanon to their activities in Iraq during the previous war?

Iran is an active player in the region that has killed scores of Americans.
