I mean, I kind of see the point in this, but it falls apart when one realizes that:

•You can still be illiterate and be fed Communist propaganda. See: revolutionary operas, posters, etc...

•Being more well read does not equal being more gullible to propaganda and being more subject to indoctrination. In fact, reading can allow an individual to develop a critical spirit.

•Literacy campaigns are not exclusive to Communist regimes.
