Discussion Fellow musicians, watch out: Musixmatch could be auto-uploading AI-transcripted lyrics to your songs
So I've used Musixmatch in the past to upload time-synced lyrics to my Spotify songs. I recently released a song and then I noticed that somebody had already added lyrics to it. I was surprised, so I clicked on the lyrics and it turned out that Musixmatch now uses AI to listen to your lyrics and write them down. Of course, the AI is garbage and misheard everything and was writing out ridiculous gibberish. I shudder at the thought of listeners thinking I deliberately wrote what the AI put there. I never at any point authorized Musixmatch to do this.
I'm trying to contact Musixmatch about this but even their customer service is AI! I don't understand why every company has to shoehorn AI into everything. It never fucking works. I fucking hate AI with every fiber of my being

Appreciate the heads-up on this! It’s a good reminder to get over there and get caught up on getting our lyrics properly added.
And I agree with your thoughts at the end. It’s frustrating enough to see AI pop up in obvious places, not to mention in places where it’s frankly unnecessary. A good portion of the world doesnt even realize MusixMatch is a thing… why would they want to risk producing bad results… results that are worse than no results at all? Just to be able to say “we have AI now”??? 😡

Yeah, it really pisses me off. I go out of my way to not use AI, but now these companies are forcing AI on you at every turn

I don't understand why Spotify uses a third party application to upload lyrics anyway
