NJ Band looking to create a new band that has enough skill and ambition to rehearse and start performing gigs
Hi,
I am musician from New Jersey who can play either the drumset or guitar at least an intermediate level. For guitar I am capable of being a rhythm or melody guitarist but seeing that it has become more diffcult to find a drummer, I'll just stick to drummer, and besides I already have a drumset at my crib anyways. Right now, I have plans with another guitarist who is mainly a rhythm guitarist and right now its realistically only two of us. I do have a small possibility of having a bassist join my band, he's very capable but will be off at summer camp to teach kids music theory and music throughout all of July. As such, you can see that i value attendance and consistency, which is why I am seriously considering leaving my current band. Currently I am currently in a metal band, one that prioritizes on metallica. There are a few issues, not super significant like the fact that the drumset at my bandmate's place was found on the side of the road and scrapped together so the quality of the drumset isn't very good, and everyone refuses the idea of considering replacing it, even if I pay for it. Secondly, in which I am not sure how important this is, nobody seems to be able to follow a metronome. This might work out cause my band somehow plays better without ears or metronome but like as a drummer i would highly prefer it. However, and most mainly, CONSISTENCY IS IMPORTANT. There have been like 7 times where at least one member in the band can't show up every friday at 5 PM because of vacation, school, work, doctors, you get it family issues. I tailored my work schedule and life events for every friday and everyone beforehand agreed that this would be the case. My last straw was today, when after a bandmate was gone already for vacation in Europe, another bandmate who said was available to come next Friday said he had some errands to do. So yes, in order to find a band that is ready and has drive to do gigs, have fun, perform, make money, potentially write songs, I need a reliable schedule. So with two guys from New Jersey, guareenteed for this band so far, my band needs these members, a lead guitarist, a bassist, and a vocalist as the absolute bare minimum for this band. A keyboard player or some other instruments could help out for sure. Also I have to point out that at this moment, my vision is more rock, punk, metal genre, but if anyone has like jazz or classical background with lots of knowledge, I would be extremeley happen to learn, jam, and have you in my band, as long as you share my passion for this band and have at least some polished skillset before joining this band. A luxury this band could badly use is a sound engineer and a studio. That would be like winning the jackpot lottery because I have barely any clue how recording music works, what mics to use, how to use any apps, or anything involving the music industry. I do practice some but not enough and this band that is actually consietent would actually motivate to work my ass off. Age, although not the most significant factor also would make things more convienent and comfortable to work with. I am 20 years old, and the guy I wanna consider working with is 18. If the guy is too old like let's just say 60, let's just say it would be a bit awkard but I'd be welcome. For younger, he or she would need like a parent to constantly drive over and yea could get complicated. My ideal age range would be from 17 to 27 years old, close enough in age for us to meet up easily and makes band chemistry less awkward. Also, just to let you know, I understand everyone has their lives, work, school, stuff like that, but I want this band to at least be on the higher end on a priority. When everyone is focused on a goal in particular, with a clear mindset and a desire to work harder, it pushes everyone along with myself to aim high and reach for the stars. If you are in NJ, play any of the instruments I need(unless you have another instrument that I don't know of which can help this band out), and match my desire to perform, hit me up, send a dm, and I'd be extremely eager to work with you. Also let me know what you like listening and can already play so we can work this out. The guitarist that I am working with a heavy metal guy so it'll be prefered if we can all figure out a way to work things out. Finally, I can't stress this enough, Consistency is always key, this won't work out without reps on a reliable timeframe and scedhule. It is the reason why I most likely will soon leave my band. Thank you all so very much, hope to get alot of views on this, and am very excited to see what I'll be working with! Capice!!!

For the future please split paragraphs up to make it easier to read. Good luck though!

Send me a Dm and let's chat. I am PA, I don't play metal, but I am head of production at a metal focused community practice studio in Collingswood. I'd love to tell you more. If you're serious, we don't charge anything, but we do things by the book and we're looking for hungry talent who wish to develop their stage act!
