Education Applying for MEXT 2027 Undergraduate Scholarship from Nepal — Several Questions (Please Help!)
so I'm applying for MEXT this year through the Japanese embassy in Kathmandu and I have a ton of questions. would really appreciate if anyone who's done this before (especially from Nepal) could help out
1. +2 (high school final exam) results still not out NEB hasn't published results yet and the deadline is June 14. what did you guys do? just submit without it and mention it in the email? did the embassy actually accept that?
2. notary attestation instructions say notary attested copies but we're submitting everything by email (scanned). do I really need to go to a lawyer, get it stamped, then scan that stamped copy? or can I just scan my original NEB documents directly? has anyone from Nepal just sent plain scans and got through?
3. +2 marks on the form itself results are pending so what do I write in the academic record section? leave it blank? write "results pending"?
4. photo on the form did you guys insert the photo digitally into the PDF or print the form, paste the photo physically, then scan the whole thing? which way works better?
5. no IELTS or TOEFL I studied in English medium school my whole life but don't have any certificate for it. just wrote "English medium education Grade 1-12" in the others section. is that fine or did anyone get asked for something more?
6. computer engineering anyone here who chose engineering? which specific major did you pick from the MEXT list? and did they actually place you in that field or just send you wherever?
7. the japanese prep year for people who already went through it — is 1 year actually enough to follow university lectures? and were you sent to ABK or Osaka uni for the prep?
8. university choice can you actually choose which university or does MEXT just assign you? does expressing a preference do anything?
9. the written exam how hard is the math and physics paper? I have science background from Nepal +2 so wondering if that's enough preparation or if I need to study extra stuff
10. timeline how long did the whole thing take from submitting the application to actually landing in Japan?
sorry for the long post, just really stressed about getting the application right. thanks in advance to anyone who replies

Can't advise on the application but notary attestation means getting a lawyer/notary/solicitor to stamp "certified true copy" and sign
It is about having that independent party to do the validation, not just a simple function of scanning a document. So yes, a lawyer is absolutely unavoidable.
You might want to check if they need a translated copy as well.

This appears to be a post about the MEXT scholarships or university scholarships more generally. Questions about scholarships are VERY common on this subreddit - before asking, you should search to see if the question has been answered before, and carefully read the information your embassy provides. If, after doing your own research, you still have specific questions then you're welcome to ask them here, but really general questions about scholarships, or questions that have been answered repeatedly before, will be deleted. You may also wish to visit /r/mext for more resources. (This is an automated message from the friendly subreddit robot - don't worry, humans can also still reply to your post!)
